Okay, so this is pretty bizarre. Apparently the family of a college student, Kristin Smart, who disappeared back in 1996, has been told to be prepared for the "unexpected". WTH????
The family of Kristin Smart, the California college student who vanished 23 years ago after attending a party near her school, was reportedly told by federal agents to be prepared for news and to secure a family spokesperson.
Denise Smart, the woman's mother, told the Stockton Record that she was contacted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and was told to "be ready."
"This is really going to be something you don't expect. We want to give you the support you need," she said she was told.
FBI tells family of Kristin Smart to be "prepared"
A *retired FBI Agent with the Los Angeles office weighed in on the notification and what it could mean for investigators and the family. "It does sound like they have found something with relatively definite information, whether it be good or bad, and the family certainly has a right to know. It sounds like that may have been exactly what the FBI was doing," said Tom Parker, a retired FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Los Angeles office. "It sounds like something extremely significant has happened or has been discovered, which would lead me to believe that they are right there on the edge of some kind of resolution."
Personally, I'd be beyond pissed if my daughter had been missing all those years and they had information about her that they weren't telling me.
"It's probably imminently going to break I would say within a month," the mother told the paper. "Something's going to happen."

OMG ! The continuous torment of wondering about the well being of a loved one who has disappeared ? I can’t imagine what this poor family went through.
I’d be beyond pissed off if they had information they weren’t sharing with me. I’d be livid and probably want to sue.. but apparently alphabet agencies can pretty much do what they want when ‘solving’ cases.

What if she identified as a male, couldn't face up to outing herself, ran away, and has now returned as a transsexual person?
This theory fits with all of the following:
- It's not what the family is expecting.
- They would need a spokesperson, because this would become a huge story in the media.
- There will be psychological support for the family.
In mysteries like this, it's important to keep an open mind and explore all avenues.

Can anyone imagine having authorities come to them after they lost a child and say something to the effect of...
"We know where your child is...but we're not going to tell you right now."
That is akin to psychological torture!!

“I believe that Paul Flores is responsible for her death and I believe that he knows where she is currently located,” Lambert said. “There is no doubt in my mind.”
