Care, yes -- and remember, how, in the wake of the submissive response of the Carter Administration, the Soviets felt free to invade Afghanistan? All of that IMO was fallout from the outcome of the war in Vietnam.

For the Soviets, ironically, Afghanistan turned into a central Asian version of Vietnam. Guys like Putin learned from that. He has been careful to not invest too much into the mess in Syria.

These seem to be gas flares from a flare stack, a gas combustion device used in industrial refineries. There used to be a lot illegal refineries in the Duhok area, 30 were closed down end of last year. But a lot of legal ones still operating in the area.

Below is a good example in Edmonton "the day we started summoning demons from the netherworld". But seriously Canada also has flare stacks and the pillars seem to form with cold air particles like ice/snow.

The U.S. military has confirmed to ABC News that there has been a terror attack on a military base in Kenya that houses some U.S. military personnel.

The Somali terror group al-Shabab has claimed responsibility for the attack that Kenyan authorities said had been repelled with four militants killed in the fighting.

The Al Qaeda affiliate claimed that their fighters had taken control of a portion of the base, a claim that could not be verified.
Last week al-Shabab carried out a car bomb attack in the heart of Mogadishu that killed at least 80 civilians.

About 500 U.S. troops are stationed inside Somalia assisting and advising that country’s military in its fight against the terror group.

Sūrat aṭ-Ṭūr (Arabic: سورة الطور‎, "The Mount") is the 52nd chapter of the Quran with 49 ayat. No, they can appear to but the twitter user Victra that posted the video is actually from Edmonton. And since it's located in a river valley and the flare stacks are on towers. I can think of a good scenario...
