Thieves have reportedly stolen £50m worth of jewelry from the Kensington home of Tamara Ecclestone.

The daughter of ex-Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone was left "shaken and angry" after the burglary on Friday.

According to The Sun, rings, earrings and a Cartier bangle worth £80,000, which was given to the heiress as a wedding present, were all taken in the raid.

The Met said no arrests had been made and it was looking for three men.

Fifty Million Pounds Worth of Jewellery Stolen From F1 Heiress.

Not condoning the theft of other people's property, but anyone that can afford £50 million pounds worth of Jewellery, can afford to lose it.

Anybody else gaff gets turned over and they are lucky if Police forensics even bother to turn up on the same day, what's the bet Police are in there like swimwear on this one?

My thinking is an inside job all the same.

The best bit, i don't see the insurance companies wanting to pay out, as apparently she broadcasted the fact that they would be away from the property on social media via pictures of them departing on a private plane.

That's a lot of shiny stones.
Or 50 million burgers from McDonald's value menu.
Or around 20 million cheap malt liquors...to put it in perspective.

Formula 1 racing pays pretty effing good.

And it's probably insured.

They'd be stupid not to insure it.

I imagine the jewelry will indeed be insured but insurance companies have been knowing to take the huff paying out if you tell the world you're going to be out and then the place gets turned over.

That's nothing....in my country it is reported as a $97 million heist.
.

Smells like an insurance job, dont it?.....Seriously, if anyone took 100 million$ worth of jewelry to a pawn shop, they would be lucky to get 1 million $ for the lot of it.

As others have said, people with too much money and too much time on their hands.....tho Bernie aint got too much longer left on Earth....he's probably already booked himself in to be frozen.....and thawed in 500 years.....

Probably in on it.

Sounds like an insurance scam.

But if it wasn't, I have sympathy problems for people's millions worth in jewelry gone "missing". It's precious metal with inflated value because someone made it pretty.

Insurance should cap personal jewelry collections unless it's secured well... To think everyone's premium just went up because some lady needed 50~ million worth of jewelry for feelz.

If not recovered the jewelry will be . Lol

The Gold and platinum will be taken apart and melted .

The stones cut to different specifications and resold.

The article mentioned a raid on her house which translates into a home invasion robbery.

I imagine they had a safe and were forced to open it under threat of physical harm .

That scenario just makes me shake my head .

If you’ve got $50 million pounds in jewelry you should have two safes.

A lot of acquaintances know when a homeowner has a safe. All it takes is a couple people to talk about it then everyone knows .

Many members commented that it sounded like an inside job. It very well could’ve been.

But it could also of been a friend or acquaintance that sold you out .

If you have a lot of very valuable property you need two safes .

In her case I’d say one decoy with 1,000,000 pounds worth of jewelry and some cash. That one that you can freely talk about .

Then another hidden safe you never speak of to anyone .

Safes aren’t a good idea for homeowners except for burglaries.

Someone with a gun committing armed robbery can hold a gun to you or your childs head . In either instance you’re going to open your safe for them .

But if you’ve got a decoy you give them that. The aholes think they’ve hit the jackpot and your family stays safe .

I know I’m rambling on again but one more thing .

Most home safes aren’t really that hard to crack.

When they give a rating for a safe say B30 or UL 60.

That is the estimated time it will take a burglar to break into it .

Which brings me to another piece of advice that I always give .

“Get a big dog that bites”

Oh, for sure, the stones retrieved, metals melted down, the value will likely be reduced to 20%, or less.
There also is a possibility that this was a theft to order job. I always wonder about super high value painting that are stolen, I mean, what does a collector do with such a painting/jewel/WHY.

From what I gather, they were on vacation, and because she announced she was going on vacay, the insurance company is trying to squirm out of the claim.

We had to do that for 2 reasons, one..the bears, and two, the thieves that just about ruined us.

We got 2 Alabai's now, to take the place of our old Boeroel who passed away

Yeah I looked into it a little further.

The latest report say three thieves broke into a house staffed by 50 people .

They were then able to open several saves in 50 minutes .

Not sure I’m buying that one ?

Unless they hit Harry’s house for the invisibility cloak , then brought pillow hammers and silencers for the drills . Lol
