So last week Santa brought me an Oculus Rift S for Christmas as I'd been a good boy all year and worked hard , the Rift is great but I couldn't shake the feeling I wasn't getting the most out of it as my GTX 1060 is minimum spec for most VR games and as I play racing sims the more frames the better ..... so Santa just bought me an RTX 2060 which will be delivered tomorrow.

They say confession is good for the soul hence the point of this post , I confess ... I'm a bad bad boy.

Can't wait for the new card though.

Just an FYI for you....
Go to the Nvidia forums and check out what folks are saying and find what the most stable driver versions are.
I have been kind of watching and waiting to replace my 1080ti and for a while .
Probably be sometime next year , as I do not feel Real Time Raytracing makes it worth the performance drop for now.

If you look , sometimes the "most up to date" driver is not always best.
And , you cannot get the "hotfix" driver versions through GFE
And why use Geforce Experience ?
Just a question .
You can set individual games' configurations through NVCP and save that bit of horsepower.

Bought an rx5700? Awhile back for the cad/3d printing programs I was trying to run.

Night and day difference, it used to take 20 minutes for it to slice/render.
Now it's instant.

Dont do much gaming (flight sim) , but nothing bogs down anymore.

Needless overhead to veteran gamers.
And , again , GFE does not deliver hotfix drivers from Nvidia.
You still have to go to the forums for a "heads up" for those .
You know what a hotfix driver is for , yes ?
Or , one could use the DHC drivers provided by Microsoft in Windows 10 and download NVCP from the Microsoft Store .
Not a bad deal at all.

AMD Radeon rx 5700 is a good gaming card.
The core clocks are a bit under Nvidia GeForce though.
AMD is catching up on performance.

Nvidia RTX is the future of gaming.
I should have said "I am waiting on the $1300 for the RTX 2080ti Founder's Edition"

I don't buy prebuilt PCs
Shop around and build my own since , well , as l;ong as I can remember (40+ years ? )

And , I believe the FE will be about $1300 when I decide I will buy one.
The next gen RTX are just around the corner.
