They have far too many patients to see as it is, let alone adding more govt. mandated patients to their day.

At least that was the impression that I got from my Dr. when he said he would retire.

And we also know universal healthcare would entail more work and less pay to the Drs.

If national healthcare is so wonderful why do people in the UK, the utopia of socialized medicine fly out of country for healthcare? Why?

I don't know the statistics, but there are periodic complaints that this is happening the other way round- that people are flying into the UK to take advantage of the free service. "Medical tourism".
www.thetimes.co.uk...
Free national healthcare is wonderful enough that any government which even hints at the possibility of reducing the budget will be signing its political death-warrant. In fact the dreaded accusation "NHS cuts" may well be brought up if they are only failing to increase the budget as much as people want.
You try standing for election in the UK on the platform of "Let's abandon the national health service", and see how far you get.

DITTO.. I live in London with a long term illness and I would literally be dead ten times over by now if it wasn't for the NHS. God bless our Queen.

As a Canadian, the ignorance of your post is quite frankly, jaw dropping and inspired. As a Canadian, every time I have to go to your country, I'm low key terrified of falling ill. Canadians that fall sick in america, fly home. Now if you try and quote that some rich canadians fly south for a more expensive treatment, well the exception doesn't prove the rule. The exception is an exception. And your delusion that most Canadians don't trust our healthcare is wrong, false and a lie.

You should move here, you might enjoy the lower taxes, fewer shootings, a less polarized political system and a generally more intelligent population on average. We're also better looking on average. And the 3rd best country in the world.

PS I made 14k in the last 28 days. I am being taxed at 21%. How much are you taxed?

Not sure what hell you're talking about. Pretty great up here. Come up here and explore, assuming you are in a position where you can afford a vacation.

USnews agrees:

Take a breath, you sound a little nuts. We provide free mental health programs for people like you up here. Free prescription too, if it will help you lead a more normal life. And don't worry, most of our mental health programs are at will only. We won't come and just cart you away.

Once again, here you are trying to prove the rule with the exception. It's probably telling that the website you're quoting from has a religious tint. As religion goes, I'm sure they have a bigger issue with the legalized suicide compared to the lack of care.

I've heard from my american friends directly, how much better our care is compared to yours is. Primarily because most americans can't even afford a check up. Stop your own politicized ignorance.

Side note, I'm completely for assisted suicide after watching and hearing about what my uncle went through during his losing fight with intestinal cancer.

Once again I ask you, how much are you taxed? I'm at 21%. All americans care about is money after all, so lets compare it. I get full healthcare and pay 21% tax. HBU?

If an institute that studies freedom ranks Canada higher than america for freedom, what does that mean of america if you say we aren't free? Im a little perplexed by your non-sensible comment.

There is not a single person I know that can't afford a check up, stop your ignorance.

Also let's talk in a decade and see how braggy you are then. Looks an awful lot like our pension crisis.

Canada’s largest province is projected to see health-care costs soar to the point where they will consume 80 percent of the entire provincial budget by 2030, up from 46 percent in 2010.

The report showed that 29 percent of adult Canadians who fell ill and needed to see a specialist waited two months or longer, and 18 percent waited four months or longer, compared with 6 percent and 7 percent of Americans, respectively.

We must know a lot of different americans. Every single one of the ones I know, won't go to a doctor at all due to cost. The last canadian that I heard who needed a specialist needed a procedure done on their eye. It took 4 weeks from initial doctor visit to appointment. It's hard to take any quote from your papers seriously with how political your entire country is. You should probably find the stats off our health care websites, not off american news websites that are against public healthcare.

Canada is ranked more free than america.
Canada is ranked better than america.

Yah, I don't know anyone who can't afford $100 bucks.

The majority of single people I know go years without check ups and avoiding other care too, because they don’t want to afford that.

The majority of couples I know generally follow the standard schedule.

What do I not understand? Every single word in the sentence as it is patently false and untrue. Your ignorance does not equal facts about my country. We have a Canadian charter that guarantees our freedom. We are ranked as having more freedom than you by agencies that rank it. Americans love yelling 'MERICA. But if you yell it as a roar of freedom, maybe you should yell CANADA, or one of the many countries that don't have eroding freedoms.

If this is your weird way of talking about gun rights, well if you want a gun, you'll be able to buy one in Canada. However, if you just went through a divorce and the divorce wasn't great, your ex-wife will have to sign a paper stating that she's fine with you getting a gun. Doesn't that seem great and reasonable? You'll also have to take a class and get a license. If you want the fancy and more easily concealed and murder-y stuff, you can get some of it too. More licensing though.

Don't worry guy, 'MERICA might be ranked number 1 in the world for per capita gun ownership at 120 per 100 people, but Canada is ranked 8th with 34. We got you boo. We just aren't terrified to sleep at night without a gun beside out bed.

PS God given right? What backward ass logic is that. Pretty sure in most religions, they don't want you killing people, right? Why would your god then, give you guns to do that? Broken, false logic. Do you agree?

What is your motivation for posting blatant lies like this, I wonder?

I live in a country with "Socialized medicine" as you call it.

I have several family members that have or have had serious medical conditions over the years, and they have been taken care of by the "Socialized medicine" in the best way imaginable.

Not even once, have I, or anyone else I know worried about not being taken care of in the best way possible, in case of an emergency. No insurance needed. No cash needed. And yes, we all collectively pay for this assurance through taxes.

What is your point? What are you trying to get across here ?

One institution messed up badly, and you jump to retarded premature conclusions, blaming "socialized healthcare" ???
