I'm self employed so I'll just stick with hiring a stripper so I can pretend I have an employee to make redundant.

Take your clothes off and get outta here!

thats the scam now? you no longer are 'fired' you are redundant?

no

you get fired if you steal, treat other workers inappropriately, coming to work off ya face or something there abouts

Its about your performance or lack of in the job you hold.

you are made redundant when companies need to cut back on spending or there isn't enough work to fill whatever position you hold.

Redundancy is not about you or your performance.

This is just the greatest damn thing I've read in a long time, LOL! There is nothing funnier than a well played trolling, it sheds light on the stupidity of human society in the most effective way. Brilliant!

I bet if he brought the clown from IT, the meeting would have gone very differently.
Perhaps a promotion.

The weirdest thing I find about this story is that he was allowed to bring a support person.

We are really at the point that companies are allowing you to bring someone with you to work to be fired?

It's New Zealand.

I wonder whom Ronald McDonald brought to his redundancy meeting, after all the clown mascots were removed due to a pervasive negative view of the clown community following the horror movie It?

Send in the frowns?

He should have brought this dude.
The "BEST" Joker ever.
"They" call him "Doom Head."
Now, he doesn't call himself Doom Head, mind you.
He ain't no !@#$%^ clown!

It might have worked out better for him if he'd taken along a work colleague or union steward.

But maybe not. Sounds like he knew what was coming.

I know there is a story there and I so desperately want to hear just how that all took place, but I dont want to derail the thread to do so.

I dont know if I could have kept a straight face during the meeting, if I was the boss. If I was the employee, I would most certainly be laughing my ass off watching the boss struggle not to laugh. But yeah, like others have said, you've gotta give the guy props for original thinking and for having a sense of humor about it all.

I personally would of hired a stripper and got her to dress up as lawyer type.

That's what I've been missing my whole life!
An Emotional Support Stripper!
It's a mutually beneficial arrangement and good for the environment.
You can probably write it off as a medical expense.
Wonder if Medicare covers that?

Is that what they say when they fire you, down there across the pond?

Now that's redundant.

May as well call it a terminal case of the soon to be missing paychecks. Or better yet! They should have just called that guy, and told him "your fired" that way you dont waste a quarter of your day over nothing.

Reminds me of this Carlin skit.

That's the van Morrison way done right.

Bring the brass down, if they have the balls to sack you they can handle a 'downsizing' as in taking the Mickey outta them for being jerks.

I know it would be tough to make someone redundant, that's why companies hire psychopaths, because they have no empathy or sympathy, true story.

Excellent idea. You could write it off as a business expense for entertaining "clients".

Actually... People and Businesses do. I have an ole musician roomy turned accountant, who explained some of the loopholes in vague terms.

And Yes, that includes Dinner and Strippers!
