The big problem is Watergate legacy. Journalism brought down a president, and at that point, it stopped being about reporting what was happening in the world to changing the world. And you and I both know which types are most excited at the prospect of changing the world.

In fact, Trump is giving them all kinds of thrills thinking they can re-enact Watergate all over again and bring down the president. Of course, they think they're on a moral crusade, but really, they just want to prove they can.

He sold out to Time-Warner. I remember recent discussions of AT&T buying the business and getting CNN in the deal. Not sure if that went through. I guess we could Google it but I'm not up to it today.

Anyway, although I believe CNN is completely off the rails, I have always had respect for Ted. In the 80's (when I was in my early 20's), the local news loved to get him to say things on camera. What I liked about him was his way of saying things off the cuff. He was kind of the Trump of the 1980's. He'd say things that weren't politically correct and would inadvertently offend others. Don't ask me to prove it. It's a memory (long before Google) and links are to places in my brain inaccessible from the Internet.

I agree that CNN and the MSM are not "left."

The terms "left", "right", "conservative", "liberal", "moderate", "radical", etc., are terms used to subdivide people who might otherwise unite for common causes. If you hold Opinion A on Issue 1, then you must be in Box Blue and must always oppose the people in Box Red.

The real sides are the Globalists who have the ultimate goal of a single world government run by our "superiors" and the Nationalists who want to live their lives with as much freedom as possible.

CNN and the rest of the MSM are firmly in the Globalist camp. They will support anything that gives governments and multinational groups more power over individuals. They are "liberal" and "left" when it comes to supporting gun control, open borders, and government having the final say in how people must live their lives. They are "conservative" and "right" when it comes to regime changing countries that don't fall into line, putting down protests in NWO nations, having government spying on citizens, etc.

They are conspicuously silent on issues that would unite large groups of people from across the political spectrum against the will of the government.

But I thought there was no such thing as TPTB or the deep state... funny how they only exist when it helps you make a point. At the core of all of this are two competing ideologies; capitalism and socialism, and it's clear who stands on which side of things. CNN is clearly on the socialist side of things despite them being a corporation, dfn stated that CNN is not anti-Corporation therefore they aren't really leftist, which is just not legitimate logic. Being left leaning does not automatically have to mean being against corporations, MSM news corporations aren't that radical nor should they be. However they are on board which most of the far-left rhetoric and the stupid things their guests say, because it gets views and helps push the anti-Trump agenda. This isn't just a big game or smoke screen, it is the political climate of the world right now and it has clear roots in these two opposing ideologies.
