Greenlandic is almost dead. Villagers have been mostly forced to larger towns where Danish is spoken.

Cluster suicides among Greenlanders should be looked at. Something is not right there.

The only reason I can see for buying it is to deny it to the Chinese. No matter what kind of mineral wealth Greenland has, we can still buy its minerals on the open market, and whoever owns those resources will be happy to sell them. Controlling territory is not as attractive as it used to be. Let the Danes be responsible for the problems of Greenlanders; we just want to buy stuff from them.

What's sadly pathetic is that much of his sheep-base actually BELIEVE this sort of thing. Every time Trump says or does something inanely stupid, his base claims he did it on purpose to rile up Democrats.

Accept the fact - Trump can be an incredibly STUPID, rude, bullying, egotistic, self-centered and self-absorbed child that has to get all the praise, while refusing to praise anyone else. Where there are desired resources you might well see the great powers going in for a new 'Scramble for Africa' type scenario. Russia, China, USA are positioning themselves all over the globe in overseas adventures and neo colonialism since 9/11. Greenland and its immense resources will be in their sights too

I think a reason why a nation or world power may want Greeland is that they can have access to massive amounts of fresh water , this will be an extremely valuable resource in the future if we head down the current path we are on.
as once the wars for oil are over , then we will fight over fresh water .
Maybe China and the USA are just planning the long game.

I think Greenland has 8% of the worlds total fresh water reserves
