As an American, my first impression on reading your post is.....

Hell yea brother. If everything you wrote is true (I imagine it is), share that word and make sure your countrymens' best interest are sought by your representatives.

If my country wants to continue their proclamation of being the bastion of freedom, we should respect other nations as much as our own. Especially allies.

Cheers

Greenland will be an ideal strategic location for when we invade Canada...

the USA acquiring the rights to Greenland would be a Magnificent Coup by Trump

the usa would have the Keys to large amounts of rare Earth elements

the future processing of ores, minerals, other resources like Thermal Energy would involve making the Island Continent a land of mining facilities here on Earth instead of the outer space Asteroid mining ventures that are envisioned for the future

All the immigrant flood of peoples could be assigned functions of this Global scaled enterprise,,,

the wealth to be extracted would be in the Quad-Trillions over the rest of the Century

Trumps on my timeline

if you think tearing a hole in greenland is a good idea just because it will boost the american economy then we need less thinking like that

we need less industry and strip mining of resources here on our homeworld , we have already done enough damage as it is !

edit on 16-8-2019 by sapien82 because: (no reason given)

frakking etc is really bad for the water table . strip mining large swathes of land leads to increased pollution!

Trump wants another industrial revolution to compete with china , and industrial revolution wasnt good for the people

you see Bleak Horizons...

I see a barren land dotted by scattered Oasis of Industry with concentric rings of communities around those lifesavers' rings of prosperity

ETA

perhaps these pockets of civilization might develop into City States, maybe 500 square miles large and all under a clear dome protective canopy which traps the moderate temperature inside the domed city-state.... using the available thermal energy found beneath the surface .to both create an pleasant environment to dwell in and to melt the replenishing ice into potable water--- and provide Air Scrubbers to remove carbon or other degrading components of the mining and societal businesses a community requires to function in the Optimal Zone

sorry, but random capitalism would not naturally lead to proper planning & execution of building these Oasis/City-States
here's where a 'Big Brother' system is required... to eventually be replaced by a Technocracy-republic

Trump would only be useful to initiate buying the Greenland 'rights'... but creating a poka-dot, modern Atlantis is left to future leadership

the land of Ice & Fire can be the global rescue paradigm

Its been all over the news here in Denmark today.. but very short news, because everyone said simple no, and some thought it was a out of place Aprils fool joke, there was a real April fool here in Denmark back in 2008 that Greenland was sold to USA.

And even if we did not need it and USA could buy it.. it would still be a no in fear of someone would damage the delicate wild nature of Greenland in pursue of money or a forward operation base of war.

That's what I figured. Greenland they would rather keep their high suicide rates and poverty than improve their quality of life. And yes, we have poor here in the U.S. but let's not kid around. US poor live like kings and queens compared to Greenland poor and the poor around the world in general.

Hell, when I was poor growing up I never felt poor in the US. Too much opportunity to not be poor. Greenland, there is not much opportunity. I do agree though this will never happen. The US is the devil because they want to make money and not stare at birds and ice caps.

Want to make money is fine by me.. harvesting one of the last places on earth with clean ground and air is wrong.. and building military bases and missile silos there to get a upper hand against the rest of the world is not a good thing either. Oh and the people on Greenland is not poor and sad as you think.

They have some of the highest suicide rates on the planet. Come on man, you are not being intellectually honest because I found this video that tells a much different story and there are dozens more. They hide the alcohol behind curtains in a futile attempt to lower consumption. Yes, there are some good places but big picture, those places have some industries that keeps people employed and improves their quality of life. The east side in this video, very poor, almost no industry. There has to be some type of balance of extracting resources without destroying too much of the environment to improve these peoples lives.

Third time the USA attempts the purchase of the island. Although some sources expressed it was a joke (and that would be within his character).

still Im not for cutting huge holes into the earth and raping it clean when the cities we already have arent doing that great based on the technology we have just now.

its nice to dream of a utopia but not at the expense of the environment or the people !

Lets mine barren moons and keep our planet free from further environmental degredation.

Anyway , who says huge cities are a measure of progress or acheiement, whats it really worth if it costs millions of lives to achieve and the environment just so you can have a shiny utopia and pat ourselves on the back for a job well done.

we need to check ourselves before we wreck ourselves. This isnt the way to do it .

Trump , just wants to cash in now with all his corporation buddies and international trade partners who would get mega cash now , at the expense of the people of greenland.

You are not being intellectually honest if you think that the US owning it would make it better.

The last thing Greenland needs is an extra does of US Mercantilism hidden behind their banner of capitalism.

I think this is either part of The Greenland Disclosure Pattern or it could be Trump trolling whoever is behind the pattern. If I am right about this there is a good chance we will learn more somewhere between December 2020 and June 2021 (see link).

The places the US bought are much better off than before the purchase from a human quality of life standpoint. Protection, rule of law, balancing of environmental effects with regulations. It's not even close the positive impacts on lives as opposed to not messing with natural resources. It's never going to be perfect but the suicide rates and alcoholism go way down when the economy gets a shot in the arm. It's never going to improve in the current state.

Greenland has the highest suicide rate in the world. High rates of alcoholism, no jobs. We tried to buy it a couple of times but they would rather be poor sickly socialists I guess fishing and freezing their butts off.

So if we owned it they would be warm and not need to fish?

A "Green New Deal" that might actually work for benefits !!! 😎

Denmark stops loosing 600 million per year in subsidies they are paying, we gain VAST oil, iron, and zinc deposits, not to mention more land than Alaska.

Alaska was called "Seward's Folly when it was purchased from Russia. We got the last laugh on that one.

How Zinc Could Change Energy Storage (NY TIMES)
Zinc Market Expedted to Grow

Recent technology that uses zinc, known as zinc-air batteries, are metal-air batteries that are light weight, which supports their usage in various applications including in electric vehicles

Cheaper battery is unveiled as a step to a carbon-free grid

Lithium-ion batteries have become essential for powering electric cars and storing energy generated by solar panels and wind turbines. But their drawbacks are also by now familiar: They use scarce minerals, are vulnerable to fires and explosions, and are pricey.

A plentiful, safe and more affordable alternative would be worth a lot.

On Wednesday, an energy company headed by the California billionaire Patrick Soon-Shiong is unveiling a rechargeable battery operating on zinc and air that can store power at what it says is far less than the cost of lithium-ion batteries.

Trump is brilliant, and watching the market closely. Energy is one of the most important markets, and he knows it.

The media and talking heads are mostly idiots who don't know there rear-end from a hole in the ground.

Love this thread, made my morning and made me crack up for a while now.

Buy Greenland. lol

I think someone is going to get in trouble for leaking those insane private conversations with Trump and giving us an inside look into the mind of a megalomaniac. The leaker just made him look like a fool.
