Politicians love to raise taxes.

Always raising ####ing taxes. Taxes. Taxes. taxes.

Always more taxes.

Climate change? Raise taxes.
Economy? Raise taxes.
Wars? Raise taxes.

I'll wager that if a giant meteor was a month from crashing into planet Earth, politicians would call to raise taxes and if you weren't for it, you'd be pro-giant meteor.

Politicians spend money like 13 year-old girls in a mall with daddy's credit card.

They are idiots who spend poorly and have no accountability for what they spend. They are mindless piles of very foul poo in 500 dollar suits spending OUR MONEY!

Well screw you, you assholes! Start taking accountability, start taking responsibility you worthless feckless moronic festering puss-pools of feces!

And don't get me started on the morons who SIDE with the politicians! What the hell? If you want government to take more of your money, THEN ####ING JUST GIVE IT TO THEM!

Don't cheer when someone else has to pay for your god-damned diaper rash just because you're too damned lazy to wipe your own asses!

Your money is the most tangible marker of your freedom and liberty.

Take that control it, and they are taking control of the fruits of your labor and basically saying they own you.

I came on the thread to say something but you summed it up better than I could.

Debt slaves is what they want... nothing more.

Imo

Since it's backed with nothing, it's now just used as grease on the ladder of success and wealth redistribution.

Amen brother...how about Kate Brown trying to keep the Oregon "kicker?"

I about went through the roof.

and then we get a constant chorus of sycophants bemoaning how we should all be happy to give away more and more money to the very douche nozzles that piss it away

Someone more intelligent than me I forget now said this, but still:

Only two things in life are certain. Death and taxes.

People who complain the most about taxes, would be the first to complain about the changes in the world around them, if no taxes were paid.

I believe that was Samuel Clemens/Mark Twain

Its not a complaint about all taxes, but the idea of constantly higher taxes construed by those who waste what they already get.

And Id say, most of us on this board complaining about MORE taxes, are hard working successful adults, that would be able to navigate life no matter the circumstances.

Taxes a fine as long as they're not too burdensome and the money is actually spent to benefit of society. Unfortunately, it mostly goes into the pockets of politicians and their friends. There is a reason why most of the states with the highest tax burdens also have the worst infrastructures in the country. Then these crooks turn around and blame the opposition and their solution to the problem in their own backyard that they themselves created is to - you guessed it - raise taxes on everyone for everything.

Why so many people continue to fall for the song and dance of these sociopaths is astounding to me.

Let me ask you, Mister Pro-Tax Man. . . do politicians currently spend the money they take from us wisely?

I was confused too. Apparently it's a variation of Christopher Bullock. I learn something new every day.

ETA Link won't work. My favourite Twain quote is:

Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.

Property taxes fund your local schools and other local things.

What bothers me is raising the percentages on taxes.
If my pay isn't going up why should the cities pay scale rise?

Why should my property taxes pay for a school when I have no children to go to said school?

I understand infrastructure, roads, etc.

So we build a better elementary school with my property taxes, flesh out the infrastructure, more people move in and more property taxes are collected... all well and good for the community...

Then your property value rises and you pay more taxes, which is used to build a better high school, flesh out the infrastructure, more people move in and more property taxes are collected...

Then your property value rises and you pay more taxes...

It's a death spiral for anyone on a fixed income.
