The rise of Socialism and Climate Change fanaticism is very troubling. You would think that young people would be the first to reject Socialism and a Behemoth of a Government in these times we live in.

We live in a world where Science and Technology is on the verge of breakthroughs in areas like AI, quantum computing, gene therapy, Nanotechnology and more and people are screaming for Socialism? People actually want to give these corrupt Politicians in both parties more money to waste and spend? Why? Why do people want something that will be so destructive?

For young people, socialism is now more popular than capitalism

www.fastcompany.com...

This is so sad to me. Socialism is the Politics of envy. It basically says people who build businesses and are rich should give most of their money to a small group of corrupt Politicians who will promise them free stuff.

Why do we need Government to give people free College when Technology is making it easy to learn so many skills online. I have a cousin who learned how to code online and now has a job at a promising new Startup. He didn't need Bernie Sanders or AOC to give him anything free. You can learn to be a Data Scientist online or speak different languages. This is the decentralization of society and I the only reason why people want to be shackled by corrupt Politicians controlling their wealth is because of the Politics of envy.

Jeff Bezos doesn't deserve to be rich when most of these liberals bought books off of Amazon and now have an Amazon Echo or Fire Stick in their house or they have Amazon Prime.

I bet AOC orders a gang of stuff from Amazon while telling New Yorkers they have to suffer when 80% Hispanics and 70% Blacks wanted Amazon there. The reason Bezos is rich is because people use Amazon a lot. Why should you envy him? Go out and start a business and stop saying I want corrupt Politicians to give me things.

Here's a list of things you can learn online for next to nothing.

30 MOST LUCRATIVE SKILLS YOU CAN LEARN ONLINE

www.onlinecoursereport.com...

With VR and AR, this will be even more profound as an Avatar can be in your home teaching you a new skill. Why do you need a Behemoth of a Government?

We have Blockchain and Open Source. You would think young people would want an even more decentralized society where we give most of our wealth to Science and Technology and Governments are reduced to the point where it's like Jury Duty. Every 6 months, 50 Citizens are selected to run the Government for 6 months.

The fact that young people want more Government control over their lives in the face of so many Scientific and Technological advancements is frankly scary.

Well, when I was a kid in school had a few teachers that talked about communism and socialism as evil. Now it's not politically correct to say that. And we have become a welfare country. They expect that handout now where people use to be ashamed of it. The American dream has been replaced with laziness.

gee, pray tell, just how much taxpayer money was shelled out to fund all this research?? why is it socialism to find a way to ensure that those taxpayers can take advantage of that gene therapy, nanotechnology, ect even after the AI take over all their jobs socialism, but funding the research that brought about all these wonders isn't??

A socialism movement seems to be the legacy of unbridled capitalism. When 1% of the world holds 50% or more of the world's wealth and student debt is piling up, with no end in sight...coupled with the polluting of the world and the destruction of natural resources...well, what do you expect? Do you expect them to embrace the status quo?

In a small country, socialism could work fine as long as all the people in the country have the same social idealogy. Then the idiots controlling the government of those socialist countries stick a bunch of Muslims in the country that have not been properly conditioned, it will lead to the destruction of the working socialism in those countries.. Those countries will collapse within a few years.

If everyone pulls their weight, socialism works, but it will never work in this country, half the people do not want to work, they want a paycheck. Or they want to go to college so they don't have to work and wind up loosing money on that over their lifetime. The medical industry is fearmongering people into needing their services more.

The picture you present appears much like a generational theory called ''The Fourth Turning''

''According to the theory, historical events are associated with recurring generational personas (archetypes). Each generational persona unleashes a new era (called a turning) in which a new social, political, and economic climate exists. Turnings tend to last around 20–22 years. They are part of a larger cyclical "saeculum" (a long human life, which usually spans between 80–90 years, although some saecula have lasted longer). ''

Because what is happening right now is not working for the younger generation.

They are crippled by the decisions of previous generations.

Yes, some have been very successful, with racking up little debt, but that is far from that status quo.

And imagine how crippled they’d be if they were born into the extreme oppression, subjugation and poverty of a democratic socialist regime.

You don’t put a shotgun in your mouth to cure a headache.
You don’t implement democratic socialism to fix a broken capitalist society.

Democratic socialism is 100% extreme oppression, subjugation and poverty.

For ALL

Socialism is only on the rise because the current system of crony capitalism is failing so many.

Wealth inequality is at a near-record high. The American worker is earning less and less, while owners and CEO's and shareholders are making more, and more.

It has nothing to do with envy. It's about what's fair. The American worker works hard for the profit so many companies enjoy, yet sees less and less of the pie.

Meanwhile, America is one of the only first world countries without some form of Universal Healthcare, and many Americans go broke trying to stay alive.

Despite what many on the right might think, almost no one is calling for socialism as a system to replace capitalism. Calling for Medicare For All or free college tuition isn't socialism... (Medicare and public education are already here), and dozens of democratic and capitalist countries are doing it.

Is it not working for them or are they not working for it? How many of them expected to instantly leave college and make six figures and step into their own shiny, new McMansions? How many of them didn't realize that everyone works their way up in the world from zero?

I think that the bad things you point out above, most of us can agree on. They are bad and bad for society. However I think you are mistaken to call this socialism. I call it capitalism's misdirection. Capitalism, though successful to a certain degree is a fallible and fragile economic theory which depends largely upon the social consciousness of those who are the most successful at it. When the social consciousness of those people is wanting, which in this world today it is, capitalism fails miserably.

To cover the mortal cracks in so called capitalism today, a false scapegoat is needed to redirect attention from the true problems facing us. It sets up this nanny state and an overly authoritative government that people can easily place blame on and hate as well and call it socialism.

The problem here is that what is called socialism today by all on the right, is not socialism, it is the failed bandages trying to staunch the flow of blood created by the over-exploitation of those who benefit most from he weaknesses of that system.

Causes it's true.

Kids just want bigger allowances.

Instead of getting off their rears, and doing something constructive.
