Drone Sighting Causes Ground Stop At Newark Airport

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) temporarily ordered a ground stop at Newark Airport on Tuesday due to reported drone activity in the area, officials said.

A pair of drones were seen flying 3,500 feet over Teterboro Airport, which is about 17 miles north of Newark Airport. After the sighting, officials halted takeoffs from Newark and held inbound planes in the air, The New York Times reported.

The incident caused a ground stop at the busy airport, ABC News reported.

Normal operations at the airport resumed Tuesday evening, Port Authority of NY/NJ officials stated around 7 p.m.

"We’re coordinating with the FAA and fully supporting all federal law enforcement authorities as they investigate this incident," Port Authority officials said.

I could not find any pictures or videos of the reported drones yet. No reports of it being UFO's. This is not the first time it has happened at the Newark Airport.

A small, anti drone operator missile (non-lethal?) needs to be invented. It can lock onto the signal controlling the drone and neutralizer the operator.

Actually, I think I changed my mind. First they should be made to fly Basic Economy and then killed in a gruesome manner. After we can ask which was worse.

I wonder if these drones are beginig to annoy people that do shady stuff out of view. With these drones all the outdoor partys/rituals are passe they have to go Underground.

So make these drones apear Dangerous trough some hyped media incidents and classify them as weapens maybe?

The people flying them have done that pretty well themselves. Unless all of these are setups to make drones look dangerous.

Teterboro happens to be where Trump flies in/out of when he comes to Jersey. Possibly no correlation that the drones were flying there because of that fact but still mildly interesting...

Repeat of Gatwick airport in the UK......still no explanation
