The video is now in my bookmarks lol. Here is a poem I wrote somewhat by way of response
Closing our eye to the nature of why
We must consider the nature of how
We recieve the inspiration and ability
To create anew and break the bounds
Of the known with sheer possibility.
This ordering force which aligns
All of spirit into and outside reality.
A weave is made, a spark is grown
Stories bloom as consciousness arises
Itself inspiration made self aware
Resulting in More and Less, Big and small.
I wonder, Alice, how you can see at all?
Luck, ability, experience and emotion...
All distributed according to the narrative
Which she composes according to a Melody
That wanders through perception like a ghost
Layered and conflicting, such is her confusion
Yet she walks with a grace and strength profound
Sifting through chaos with a broken net
That captures fragile dreams and hopes
And nurtures them lovingly to life
These visions of beauty, truth collected
Into orders of wonder Justice and light
Fragments of memories which realign
Energy in newer more efficient modes
" how'd I never think of that before?"
Or the rush you get of energy coursing
Through your veins as you push limits
But also much of a simpler note
The many questions and the little "huh"s
The sustained effort of discipline
The varied forays through curiosity
The exuberant tang of joy and sorrow
The focused pursuits of knowledge
Wisdom and strength of spirit and life
This mystical and ephemeral force
Of which perception is allured
When we turn our thoughts to recieve
Something far greater than ourselves
And allow ourselves to be attuned
To the awesome power of creativity
Which will rush like a mighty tide
Throughout the mire of our minds
Cleansing, bolstering, and renewing.
And now, finally- trembling- the: why?
Stated tremulously on a half breath
Somewhere betwixt fear and excitement
Wobbling as reason wars with emotion.
To recieve such a gift with no notion
Of motive seems altogether too naive
Yet the act of doubt feels shameful.
I myself cannot yet afford the answer
But it seems to me there cannot be
Any other reason but spoken thus:
To give and receive lovingly and joyously
Is the highest level of communion
And can be felt near and far
Long ago and yet to become
And if no bonds should fall
Then let it drop to hang as it can
And entrust it to return with
No weight of expectation.
To burn bright against the dark of the night
And indeed transform it to be bright
That the light of inspiration should
Never fall but burn unimpeded
Blazing with the full power
That it was always meant to
And fulfill the promise of destiny
Held in our hearts as our highest
Yearnings understandings and actions
