So I met a flat earther...

I was out on a service call today, visiting a good customer that I have a good relationship with, then he popped the question; "Do you believe in conspiracy theorise?" So I thought cool this guys a thinker lets hear what he's got to say, then he laid out how the earth is flat and gravity is a lie! Now I'm at work so I played it gentle and explained his information was bogus, gently, but this dude was adamant that I was under the thumb of the man and not seeing the truth. I smiled and took the mans money, but anyway it accrued to me that although the internet has given people knowledge at their fingertips, this knowledge has been polluted by # to the extent that reasonable people believe ridicules things.

What if anything can be done to put this straight?
I love that people think outside the box but surely we're just amplifying stupidity if we except ignorance of science?

Just saying.

flat earth is easy to debunk. the only reason you cant see mountains 1000 miles away through a telescope is because the earth is not flat. if it was flat id throw the flat earthers off the edge

This is a local radio station in Austin, Tx that had a debate on the show in October. Apparently the flat earther's call us ball earther's. Too funny.

Thank you everyone for your replies, I'm glad I posted about my encounter. I din't take a photo so I know this technically didn't happen but this is a confirmed sighting in the Midlands area, UK.
