We find agreement then

Indeed we do! Unfortunately this will go unheard. I can't remember the last time ATS made a change in policy or features of the site. Must be before 2014 when I joined.

I think you might need to come to terms with the fact that not everyone will agree with you all the time.

Why imagine that? I haven't intimated once that I don't understand that people will disagree.
People have disagreed in this thread and I love it because they have to post. No lame stars in this forum lol.

It would be interesting to see who agrees with a post. At least that is what I see a star as. Doubt it would change my starring practice much.

Another interesting aspect might be people who star but do not post.

I like the star and flag system.

It is nobodies business but my own why and how I choose to star a post and flag a thread.
No one needs to know why did or who I am that did it.

It simply is not anyone's business but my own.

However, much of the time, when I do star and flag a thread or post,
I tell them I did.

"s&f"

Just my opinion.

Yep, I'm sure.

Why do you wish to be anonymous when you star posts? Sorry, I forgot, busy thread n all.
I'm happy for people to know which posts I star.

I don’t wish to be anonymous at all, but I think there already is a gang or tribal mentality to ATS, and I think knowing would just increase that divide between people.

I don’t think ATS was designed for popularity contests and to see who is agreeing with others or not in the form of stars.
But it has become that, and it is painfully obvious to a new comer when they see some ridiculous post from a clown get 30 stars.

That’s all I’m saying CCG. There is much of a high school mentality to ATS at times ,and it’s not always so much on what you post, but what “ tribe” you’ve established yourself with, and how they give you accolades.

I can often relate to your posts and have starred some in the past. I just figure a person needs to takes the internet with the proverbial grain of salt, most of the time.

We find more agreement then.
See how cool it is in this thread when nobody can star they have to reply if they agree or disagree.

To be honest...I tend to star a post that brings new info or sources to a topic, whether I agree or not. Plus, I find while reading a thread that others have already said what I would write, it is easier to star them rather than duplicate post. A thread would become tiresome if everyone just typed the same couple of sentences over and over.

You know what breaks my heart? Is when I get a reprimand and a point deduction.

Stars and flags have all been toasted in the algorithm furnace of evil, but points will get you an "atta boy" from GOD of the cyber realms.

So do you agree or disagree with anonymous stars?
...this thread has run well without them.

I'd get rid of the lot and just talk to each other, or make stars public.

I think quite a few of us here do that action. Seem to be a natural extension of the system.

So what happens when you fall down to about -10 000 points? Will GOD hurt you?

I agree but I think there is a grand conspiracy afoot to use stars and flags you give to establish a psychological profile of you to be used by the Illuminati, skull and boners, to see if you are worthy to be moved into the circle of power. Points help in that effort.

Not physical punishment but you can never ever be a candidate for the Space Force. And total banishment into digital purgatory is always an option.

They're not playin games amigo!!!!
