This court has no authority in this matter, it's just political grandstanding by a biased judge.

Have a brain.

Honestly this judge should be impeached, the federal government has no obligation to provide any kind of explanations for it's actions to this power tripping lower court judge.

Because the former administration stacked the courts, the justice department, the IRS, and other government institutions

with political activists.

Obama sabotaged the entire federal government.

Insidious.

Good to see you round here...

I do wonder why anyone would bother to impeach a judge that has no authority in tha first place.

Perhaps one of your statements is incorrect and the other is an opinion.

No one said the judge had NO authority.

He's abusing and overstepping what authority he does have.

Perfect grounds for impeachment.

Would you care to elaborate on your one liner that tha mods seem to accept as something substantial to the topic?

Personally i do not see your point here.

What trend are you speaking of?

Soooooo this judge ruled that these young people will for ever remain in limbo ... great decision; activist judges cutting off their nose to spite their face.

I see that you said the court has no authority in the matter...my bad.

Why do you believe the court would take up the case if they had no authority?

According to his wiki he does not seem to be a liberal judge.

I do agree with you that them being in legal limbo sucks.

Read his entire history of rulings and you will find that his opinions shift with what he considers to be the political winds.

The position for which he was appointed by Bush was abolished years ago.

His positions have certainly changed as he ages, in a ruling about the withdrawal from the ABM treaty

he stated ,the case presents a "political question" not suitable for resolution by the courts."

He certainly likes to play politics now

perhaps dementia is starting to affect this 72 year old.

No,
You're assuming that.

DACA was an executive order. And the President has full authority on immigration.

So just like the terrorist countries travel ban this is another case of district judges overstepping their authority. It will be struck down as well.

Perhaps just because he disagrees with you does not mean he is ill.

Perhaps kristen failed to provide anything substantive.

What would you have done and why if you were him?

What is the logic in having the court strike it down when trump has the power?

Could it be as i stated that trump has a heart but uses the issue to garner your support?

To make a political statement..... That's the whole purpose

Dang... again we agree.. Just as i said a tactic to garner support of people that believe the sky is falling because of immigrants. The tactic shows that trumps desire for political support is greater than his desire to deport those he uses as fodder. He has said on multiple occasions that he wants them to stay and that congress should make daca permanent. So givin that it is clear that the judge is just going along with trump on this one. Other wise as i stated in another post he would have put more effort into the case.

On what grounds would the scotus strike down the daca?

Immigration is a states issue and something that the scotus has the right to not hear the case on because it would set precedence for sanctuary cities and that is something they do not want to muddy up.imo
