Everything appears to be going smoothly now, but lets say someone takes a # in the punch bowl and it all goes south. What is the worst that north korea could do? And i dont mean what would probably happen. I want your opinions on what the hail marys are. What long shot options does north korea have?

The worst thing would be if NK pisses off China some how and China obliterates them just to stretch their very very unused Military..to shake out the bugs if you will.....every now and then a Superpower must stretch and exert its influences ...it is what it is...I just hope we don't see China get riled up and begin to move....that is one big animal and whenever it moves things get crushed that are simply in the wrong place at the wrong times.....

Invade SK and wipe out millions before America could counter with a strong offensive. NK would try their best to negotiate a deal with China for help. Another option would be invade SK like I said before. And also launch a few ICBM towards Guam and America. But all that would do is slow down the inevitable full force attack from western powers. But the absolute worse thing that could happen is a kick start to WW3.

Imagine, if after a war that killed one out of four north koreans,a 50 year standoff and threats of nuclear war, north korea became another nuclear armed U.S. ally on the border of russia and china. Is there mandarin characters for FML? Xi Jinping would need to create them.

Trump could put his toupee on the right way around and we might then discover that he's really just an average looking, boring guy, painted orange.

I have alway thought that north korea, if everything went in their favor, could fight america to a stand still. If they where able to hit south korea with 4 or 5 nukes in the right area, while striking the base in guam, japan, hawaii, and san Diego while simultaneously moving everything they have into Seoul under cover of artillery. Add 2 nukes for HEAVY population density areas in the US (los angeles, Manhattan) and the US would be too crippled trying to deal with the humanitarian effort here to rebuild the supply line necessary to get everything needed for a proper invasion to korea. Add the fact that if north korea took the fight to Seoul, the us couldnt use nuclear weapons as it would destroy an allied city. Pyongyang would be dust, but if everything was moved out, then its an acceptable loss. It would be a war fought in an urban environment with pockets of radiation around with limited air support available due to the presence of the civilian population.

Trump could sign a peace treaty that makes the Democratic People's Republic of Korea the soul legitimate government on the peninsula, precipitating the second Korean war... with us on the side opposite the UN.

Kim would not allow it if it threatened his regime.

worse case scenario?

it would happen in steps

first there would be a large insertions of North Korean special forces all the way down the coast lines where they would target infrastructure, and as they are taking out what Command and Control points they can the North's artillery and Missile forces will attack their defined targets in Seoul, that would happen in the first minutes to hour of the conflict.

America and SK forces being overwhelmed and calling in airstrikes that more than likely have HEAVY collateral and blue on blue casualties as im sure the north would use a rush of 1,000,000's of attackers.

The south would be basically on knees at this point and the offencive would begin by MASSIVE counter force strikes by american cruise missiles and stealth aircraft on the artillery and supply lines.

The north's army would be cut off extremely quickly with the strikes for naval and air assets, and at this point the SK and US would have there men in play cleaning up the streets, both sides taking heavy losses.

mass exodus of civilians would be something we haven't seen since WWII.

2 or 3 days into the fight more and more assets arrive to aid the south and surgical strikes in the north take out leaders and supply depots.

as SK/US forces close in on the capital city of the north and the Kim dynasty on life support they would most likely authorize the use of chemical and nuclear weapons to stall or maybe even take out the city to deal a massive blow to allied forces.

The US wanting an equal and proportionate response use tactical low yield weapons far away from China's borders to take out deeply buried bunkers.

China and the US come to a land agreement and the Kim dynasty is no more.

Millions dead and more homeless.

Worst worst worst case?

Kim sends a body double infected with smallpox or genetically enhanced ebola, meeting goes nicley, but then trump gets fatally sick after returning to the USA and starting a pandemic.
Pence manages to avoid catching it,and is sworn in as president and goes on to launch the final war of the humans.

Hours later, the earth is a barren smoldering rock.
Nothing survives.

But lets hope not..

Wouldnt he just take the aid and say its from him? I mean, it could be foodstuffs labeled in english and he would still somehow say something like "the dprk has forced western imperialists to capitulate and offer food as tribute". Or sell it and use the money, like what happens to a lot of foreign aid in war torn places.
Id think that taking aid would push back the collapse of north korea, if it were to ever come.

Worst case scenario is Trump and Kim sign a treaty.Leftwingers freak out and lie down in front of trains to protest, farmers actually turn profits thanks to a market of hungry folks, the media all sign off the air and go into psycho wards, and the world breathes a sigh of relief, farther depressing the elitists who want a war.Well.thats only a worst case to the far left,I guess.

I dont get the mindset of using nukes as a last resort in this case. You know once you start down that road it ends the same place unless you win. Wouldnt you use them first to get every advantage you could?
