If trump becomes the president that federally legalized marijuana it's going to be a lot harder to beat him in 2020.

His ego won't let him run again.

He will declare himself the greatest one term president in history, drop the mic, and get to work on the grandest presidential library ever seen.

Smart move.
Use the resources
to target the Big Pharma
Oxycontin Series, and the illegal
Fentanyl,Cartofentanyl(sp.?),etc.

Big Pharma is implicit in this crisis,
and should not be allowed to just walk away
with their profits. They have cost Billions in
damage to American Society and untold Countries
around The World.

Their "Destroy From The Inside Out Agenda"
must be eliminated.

Imagine after this , Millions of American's Stoned Out of their Minds on a Daily Basis in All 50 States . Driving , Working , Vegetating on the Couch , what will that do to the Everyday Functions We All have to Accomplish in order to have Safe Peaceful Lives in this Country ? I can See a Dire Adverse Reaction to our Society if this eventually comes to pass.......

You sound like 1950s propaganda

Here is real truth

Portugal decriminalised the use of all drugs in 2001. Weed, coc aine, heroin, you name it — Portugal decided to treat possession and use of small quantities of these drugs as a public health issue, not a criminal one. The drugs were still illegal, of course. But now getting caught with them meant a small fine and maybe a referral to a treatment program — not jail time and a criminal record.

Among Portuguese adults, there are 3 drug overdose deaths for every 1,000,000 citizens. Comparable numbers in other countries range from 10.2 per million in the Netherlands to 44.6 per million in the UK, all the way up to 126.8 per million in Estonia. The EU average is 17.3 per million.

I think this is fantastic. I'm actually happy about this news. I hope he doesn't flip on this like the other issues, hoping he remains firm. Legalize! It's well and truly overdue.

For all you crying about "WHY DIDNT OBAMA DO ANYTHING THING!?"

How would Obama have pushed for and got the GOP controlled congress to pass MJ legalization?

The only reason its possible now is because GOP control the White House and it would now be a "win" for the GOP to push it through. It is not an issue they have championed or even supported.

Thats what I thought, despite the fact he did what he could, you blame it all on him and not on the assholes in congress who could have fixed the problem. Go bitch to Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan at least Obama did something.

It won't matter if he flips or not. It's Congress that's doing this. He just said he supported it.

Oh I think it matters. There's bi-partisan support for this in part because he's supporting it. Much fo the GOP are in line with the Trump administration. Without he's support it would be a struggle to get a decent amount of GOP support, especially considering they hold the majority in congress.

I’m from Texas and he’s right. There are many CC’s here who would be fine with the legalization of cannabis.

a reply to: Southern Guardian no, there was bipartisan support BEFORE he suggested he would give support. In fact, the sponsors of the bill are from both sides of the aisle. Trump is just jumping on the bandwagon which is fine but it isn’t because of Trump.

Conservative Christians are fine with legalization and emptying the prisons over a non-issue, i.e. non violent crime.

He started with a super majority and still couldn't get anything but a massive tax scheme disguised as healthcare reform passed.

Obama was just a low performing douchebag,

I agree with you and will add that experts i spoken to have pointed out that the one thing that will help ppl with mental illness who get addicted to pharma is the legalization of MJ.

Big Pharma Could ( this is pretending i believe anything Trump is selling) just, sit back and let it happen because right now in the states is becoming clear that doctors dont give a F about patients, ie opiate epidemic. Big farma is taking their bussiness to developing countries were ppl still trust their doctors and they are making more money than here with less liability. The main products Big Pharma is making money off in the states are uppers ie methanphetamines, MJ is not competing with those type of uppers. MJ Its better for anxiety right now xanax is the numero 1 choice but its so dangerous that its becoming a liability. Getting of xanax could have as bad withdrawls as getting off HEROIN. Plus Trump wants to kill MS13 and mexican cartels so Legalizing MJ may be construed as a matter of national security.
