Meghan's Wedding Dress Cost £200,000. Yes You Read That Right.

Part of it had all the flowers of the commonwealth put into it and imagine slapping that much effort into a veil, the thing is that its got to be perfect and as such a lot of the cost will be in the design and the effort as whoever did the design will need to be paid well as its got to be perfect as she can't be seen to hoisting it up every so often.

If you've watched 'dont tell the bride' you can see that they can spend mega money for a bog standard wedding and never mind in theory all the costs of keeping the dress a secret which would probably require 24x7 police cover.

But really would anyone expect someone to marry the 5th in line to the UK throne in a few hundred quid sampler dress from a wedding shop?

The bride looked lovely of course, but that is the plainest wedding dress I have ever seen. As for the cost, it was a royal wedding and they pay plenty for other things, why not a day that goes down in history?

I did not see one single unicorn during the entire ceremony.

I thought the British had unicorns and leprecauns.

The dress was a nice shape but I thought it wasn't all that. Rather plain and understated. I could see the veil being expensive due to the hand embroidery and it's overly long size (which looked more of a hinderence tbh). Yeah, so the fabric was all silk and specially woven etc, but the whole thing is not worth 200 grand. But you know, the minute the word 'wedding' (or funeral for that matter) is mentioned, the simplest and most ordinary things suddenly have huge price tags on them. Just hope the 200 grand came from her own funds and not the tax payers.

If I had 200 grand, I would defo buy a nice house with a small but sunny garden space with a patio and that has 3 bedrooms and a dining room and possibly a conservatory that could be a good work/art/dressmaking space. Ah well, one can only dream.

For comparison, Kim Kardashian's wedding dress supposedly cost around 8 times as much as the one you're complaining about. And she's not even a royal.

The sad part about that is, there are millions of fools in this country that think Kardashian is some kind of royalty.

I wouldn’t spend that much on a dress or a wedding. Up to her though. It was a big extravaganza on live TV, she’s not gonna wear $25 dress from Walmart.
