He... wha?! HOW??

The first, FIRST thing that popped into my mind was 'internment work camp'.

Don't yell at me, but I voted his way in the primaries.

I now am a firm believer that both sides are so full of ****, it's amazing Roto Rooter doesn't have to come out to pump them all dry once a week.

I would have voted for berbnie over any republican other than trump.

I felt that both trump and bernie did the most important thing; which was exposing the corrupt establishment that is really just one party.

And trumps win has done that, as did bernie getting screwed in the primaries.

But yeah, bernies economic plan is asinine.

When you remove the people who won't work, it probably isn't that many new jobs.

...They have an answer for that, too. Universal basic income... government ups taxes on those who are productive to redistribute to those who prefer to sit on their lazy asses but can't otherwise afford such luxuries.

But he isn't rich by his standards. He is $1,000 shy of that threshold, if HE sets the bar.

Yep thats the truth!

Same with all of these progressive types.

Open borders (just not for me in my gated community)

People need to pay more in taxes (except for me that will use every loophole)

People need to use less fossil fuels (except for me and my private jet)

The wealthy are disgusting! (expect for me I EARNED my money)

This is why i could never support this guy because all he speaks is roses and no actual concept of reality. I wish everyone has a $15 an hour job but not in this universe or communist Utopia.

Seriously i think Sanders just pushes stuff to say he tried without thinking it will ever work or expecting it to succeed

Which means 3 carbon foot prints.

Back in the day, the old Soviet Union used to claim that they had zero unemployment because everyone was employed by the State.

This is what they want.

They want a form of government just like the failed Soviet Union.

Yep and we have become dissidents.

The current prez will be their first political prisoner.

Then they will round up all the gun owners, bankers, ceo's,and other rich people, and we'll be sent off to the gulag.

So as it as written. So shall it be.

History is present. Present is history.

On top of all of that, the USA is far, far too large and varied for $15 an hour to mean the same to all Americans. Take Oklahoma or Arkansas... $15 an hour is a damn good wage, like better than many entry level technical professional college grads are going to find. Now take Alaska or Hawaii and that same $15 an hour wage has less than half the purchasing power. Sanders is stricken with a serious case of cognitive dissonance... his brand of politics views centralism as being the end all, be all, the federal government simply must be an overpowering beast which oversees everything that happens in the country and saves the nation from itself. Yet the only solution to the income problem that even remotely would yield fruit is to place 100% of the living wage decision on each individual state.

And yes, I realize even that would ultimately fail. Life is not casteless, never has been. The essence of capitalism is that you get rewards based on risk taking and investment of money, time, blood, sweat, and tears, period. Through that we see a system by which anything is possible, but the onus is 100% on the individual to make their own dreams come true. The socialist programs and policies which the US has been dumb enough to compromise on and allow in have polluted the well. This has led us to the point where, for the first time in history, much to the humiliation of us all, an avowed socialist damn near found himself on a presidential ballot. We need to retrench, in my opinion. Start cutting off the flow to multiple teats, starve the beast before it eats us out of house and home. Decisions need to have natural consequences again, meaning if you don't work and you don't put in the effort, you don't eat (outside of the voluntary charity of those who make the choice to donate from their own personal accounts). Enough with the lunatic fringe ideologies that have failed everywhere else on Earth. America is no different, if you want our wealth to leave to greener pastures and the rest of you* schlubbs to find yourselves in breadlines within a decade, keep voting for socialists.

*I say 'you' here because, honestly, the moment a Bernie Sanders is elected POTUS, I'm out. I can't say I'd leave the US, but I'd go silent and deep and extract myself and my toys from civilization, preferring the woods of Alaska to whatever noise was going on in the on-grid communities and urban hells.

'that would guarantee a job with at least a $15-per-hour wage and health benefits to every adult American “who wants or needs one'

That's a pretty good deal.

I'd like to see the full proposal before leaning one way or the other, but then I'm one of those weird people who likes to actually hear an idea before shooting it down.

I make under $15 an hour. I have never made over that my entire life.

I live in rural PA, and although I am by no means wealthy, I am not wanting for many things.

$15 an hour minimum wage hear would put out of business every local owned business in the area, no questions asked.

He believes wholeheartedly that all Americans should have government jobs.

😃

In Bernie's communist mind, all jobs ARE government jobs anyways.

"You didn't build that"

He's one of the poorest Senators in DC but if he was rich as you think he is then wouldn't he be doing the country as justice by ending all the endless loopholes and tax breaks for his class?

You seem confused on the difference between defending the domestic private sector via international trade restrictions and protection policies and inventing government jobs in the public sector purely in the name of wealth redistribution, pandering, and busy work creation. The two men are saying 180-degree different things from each other.

I notice he doesn't specify citizen.

Besides that, to bring jobs to every American successfully would be the antithesis of his whole belief system. That's why he's crazy.

But you are obviously in the know about his yet to be fully crafted plan, so share some insight on it.
