New York cops and Manhattan District Attorney investigators raided Newsweek and its company.

Taking pics of servers and looking all around.

Not for illegal workers or drug runners.

Apparently somebody high up forgot to pay some taxes.

A lien was placed on somebody in December.

Must have something to do with "charity" status I bet.

NYPD officers raid Newsweek headquarters

About two dozen NYPD offficers and investigators from the Manhattan district attorney’s office raided the offices of Newsweek and its parent company, IBT Media, on Thursday.

IBT Media was co-founded by Jonathan Davis and Etienne Uzac. The IRS placed a $1.2 million federal tax lien against Uzac in December 2017.

The agents were said to be photographing servers in the offices, but not downloading any files at the offices on 7 Hanover Square, according to sources.

Been watching this story develop today.
Curious no FBI...just NYPD.

Wonder why they were photographing the servers.

EDIT:
It looks like they were interested in the serial numbers on the servers.

This is where it all starts... a tyranny style crackdown on free press.

Today its just apparent "tax evasion"... But soon many other media networks reporting 'unsactioned' stories on the government will start being raided for espionage and other such claims...

Sieg heil, mein fuhrer Trump!

If they're guilty of tax evasion or espionage they should be punished.
Feel free to agree.

To show if they've recently been wiped, like with a cloth or something.

Trump really is more powerful than we thought if he managed to get the NYC District Attorney's office to start an investigation into Newsweek's server procurement before he even took office.

Must be the hair.

And the trump cultists will cheer it as long as its there "guy" doing it. Same as the Obama and hillary cultists cheered it when there messiah bypassed laws.

Partasian politics at its finest. Laws and constitutions only apply on people they dont like...

they might have been taking an inventory of the assets, but leaving them there in hopes that the company will pay the money they owe, if they don't they will be back to pick and chose what they want to take and sell to get the money that is owed...
but, I am just guessing here.

LOL! Newsweek is currently sporting a front-page article theorizing that Russia funneled money to Trump via the NRA.

Uh huh. The most hyper-patriotic organization in the nation was funneling money for the Ruskies. Sure. It's like the Unified Field Theory of liberalism.

I think I can figure out why Newsweek can't afford to pay its taxes.

If this is over unpaid taxes, then the cops probably don't care what's on the servers. They're interested in the value of the computers as an asset.

You're probably right. I just can't see the servers being worth even a fraction of what is owed.

Possible related to the Awan's business in stolen computer parts? The serial numbers might tell someone something.

Possible "connections" to theCF server system.

They're not. The "source" says the DA's investigation is into the procurement of the servers themselves.
