Hey Phage: I mean, I am maybe not an excellent doctor on ATS, but I'd like to hope I could be above average!

The problem though is that I am a pathologist and not a surgeon; so, I would need to do an autopsy most likely to give good answers, and then it would be too late....

I respect but differ from your view, but am at least positive and helpful. Never underestimate the knowledge of most members. So far some tips are sending me in the right direction and I already have material to study.

You "May" find some info specific to your needs by searching this site. It's an aggregate of medical stuff. Worst case scenario email him an see if he knows of a specialist? Can't hurt.

Again. NEVER SEEK SERIOUS AND DEFINITIVE MEDICAL ADVICE on any internet forum.

You need competant, professional and educated answers.

See a doc or docs, .. get testing, weigh opinions and options after.

I'm not a doctor, but I know a lot about medicines and food chemistry. This requires a surgeons opinion. Sorry to see you lost so much of your innards in the original operation. What was the cause of all that happening? I am kind of curious what could cause that much damage in the body. I don't know if there are any surgeons here, there are some doctors that help me learn here though. Is it that you want to learn why all this keeps happening Icycle2?

If you want to find out about things, then the internet is a good source of information. If you need medical treatment, then go to a doctor or specialist. It is good to do some research so you can understand what the doctor is saying, and also if something is extensive or just doesn't sound right from your doctor, get a second opinion

I am not a medical professional but I have had several serious surgeries, one that I will never fully recover from.

My best advice is get second, third, fourth opinions. As many as it takes to feel confident in what you are hearing. If a doctor asks you if you have seen anyone else and what was their diagnosis tell them you want to hear an untainted opinion from them and that you will share the findings of other doctors afterward. Of course, let them see any tests you had done prior to that meeting.

You are the patient. This is your body we are talking about. You have rights. For my first surgery I was very timid and just accepted whatever I was told. For my second I made a few demands and made it clear there would be no surgery if I did not have confidence that my demands were going to be met. Now, after my last surgery, I will dictate the terms of any surgery I have from now on and there will be no deviation unless absolutely medically necessary and I will demand proof of that after the surgery. You have the right to refuse treatment if you do not have absolute confidence for any reason. If you are not getting the answers you want just tell them there will not be a surgery until you understand the answer to every question you are asking.

God Bless you and good luck.

I was stabbed while protecting a lady. X-rays didn't show any problems and was stitched-up, 6 months later my stomach burst because of gangrene.

I only went to hospital when my lungs started to collapsed.

But like I said I'm having a perfect normal life even now with the current complications that I control. I'm not overweight (maybe 2kg), eat right and healthy. I can still outwork most youngsters (the lazy ones) and found the info I was looking for to start my study.

Thanx. I'm quite positive at this stage and it should be a walk in the park if done correctly

Sometimes things like that happen, an infection sets in after an injury or surgery. At least your alive to share your story. I have had some hereditary medical problems all my life. Just inconveniences. I was so busy working that I never had much chance to research them nor were the research articles available to research. I now know how to control diet so I do not get anymore tachychardia attacks.
