Reports of shots fired, say police
The Metropolitan Police said officers were called at 16:38 GMT to "a number of reports of shots fired" on Oxford Street and Oxford Circus Tube station.

"Police have responded as if the incident is terrorist related," a statement said.

"Armed and unarmed officers are on scene and dealing along with colleagues from British Transport Police.

"If you are on Oxford Street go into a building and stay inside until further direction. Avoid travelling to the Oxford Street area.

"At this stage police have not located any casualties"

Just came through oxford circus station on vic line totally closed.

I work in operations and senior management just called to confirm my location, seems to be a very serious incident.

I was on oxford street about 2 hours ago it was rammed with shoppers..

Yup this one looks like it could be pretty serious.

Just seen many people giving smiley faces on facebook relative to this incident probably hoping its a terrorist attack. Muslim sympathisers no doubt. Bast..ds if it is.

I just read a report saying police were responding to a shooter. Anyone else heard this??

Ahhh police now saying no shots fired and no evidence of any casualties.

I'm willing to bet there are plenty of anti-Muslim people hoping it's a terrorist attack too, all so they can get their daily dose of outrage in the bag and to further justify their hate.

That can easily go both ways, so why bring it up?

Anytime there is a possible terrorist attack people have their pitchforks ready just in case "Muslim" is said. As soon as that word isn't used their pitchforks disappear and they say "my condolences" and "what a tragedy" and their outrage is replaced by faux grief and Facebook filters over their profile pictures.

People love being outraged, Muslim attacks give them that outrage and adrenaline rush. So yeah, there are people who are anti-Muslim who hope these attacks are terrorist and Muslim related.

If you think otherwise I'd say you're the thick one.
