As the corporations combined into a single World government the more dangerous life becomes. As more and more money is concentrated into fewer and fewer hands the currency will eventually collapse. The value of money comes from greed. The more people who are greedy about money the more valuable money becomes. But when money is concentrated into fewer and fewer hands the entire system will eventually collapse. The stability of the World depends on a strong and vibrant working middle class having enough money to keep the economy moving along briskly. But when instead of having a brisk economy, when crime pays way better than law abiding hard work, very bad experiences are going to happen.

The problem is people in power who make decisions about wages are severely constrained. The idea of enlightened self-interests does not exist. And you cannot rise to the top of corporate leadership without being the most greedy person in the room willing to do absolutely anything to hurt the workers wages in order to increase corporate profitability. Workers are dirt to be exploited.

We all know power corrupts. So much power is so few hands is extremely dangerous to the commoners. There's a psychological pattern to human behavior called "the metamorphic effect of power". People in power naturally develop a contempt for the people they rule. Once they have this contempt, leadership no longer sees subjects or subordinates as people but as worthless ants to be stepped on without any moral consequence.

The way we have such extreme wealth inequality in this country and the World is going to lead to millions of deaths by acts of hate and violence by leadership. Plus killing people en masse is hugely profitable! The HUGE profits the CEOs are looking for are not going to come from selling gum to workers making poverty wages.

The government is NOT the problem because corporations ARE the government. Corporations are the problem!

And the only viable work around is a strong and high taxation of the ultra elite rich, complete ban on tax evasion and tax haven's AND a redistribution of wealth through government subsidized job's and industry's.

But hey that all sound's too socialist for the brainwashed sheep and the capitalist believing economists now does it not so I guess we are stuck watching Rome fall all over again.

The Stanford Experiment illustrated a point you made quite nicely. That experiment lasted only around a week before it had to be stopped.

Imagine if you were born and raised at the top of society how you would feel about the lower classes.

The printers of fiat currency planned it that way, by now they have most of the gold in their basement vaults. They will wipe the slate, issue new, new currency and start over.

I may not completely understand all the finer points around the terminology but on a simple level I would just prefer having a strong middle class where law abiding hard work pays better than crime. It just feels like wages are so depressed right now crime is the only answer for rising out of poverty.

For anyone interested "Ted Talks" has plenty of intel on "Transcorporations" and "who runs the world." They even give a few breakdown to the insider 1000 or less who have their fist wrapped around the power.

Very interesting. Mathematical and Scientific.

Good eye.

A well read science fiction /futurist lover has seen the "Earth Company" scenario played out and what that means for normal humans. Combine that with robotics and the massive elimination of blue collar jobs and middle management and you can end up two ways - an elite corporatocracy with God-like wealth at the top and dying "culled" masses at the bottom.

I hope we aren't headed this way. The other way is more Star Trek with universal basic needs met and freedom to become your best self, tons of educational opportunities and additional earned income.

Which would sound better to greedy people?

Sorry, I'm feeling a bit dystopian today...

I agree. The problem is people in this country are so condition to think government is the problem. Government is the answer. The only way to fight the criminals is with government and law enforcement.

You make some very good observations. The metamorphic effect of power is real.

I don't have a problem with manufacturing automation. I don't think we have to have people collecting tolls at bridges. EZ-pass works great. We don't have to have people assembling toasters in factories. Who cares how stuff is made.

Instead of making stuff, my hope is the oligarchs have a epiphany around the value of human culture. People love to attend the Olympics. The value of culture makes life fun, interesting, and meaningful for the oligarchs. My hope is rather than kill millions, the oligarchs decide to fund the culture just for the sake of culture.
