Iran's Shahed 129 attack planes devastate Islamic State's battle pickups

Recently entered service in 2012, Shahed 129 is a large UCAV with long loitering endurance and thousands of km of flight range. Armed with 4 laser or TV guided missiles, it packs a punch operating hundreds of kilometers from the control station. Dozens are operating from the Hama and Aleppo air bases. From there they target Islamic State's battle pickups in eastern Syria. Boom boom smash. They can shoot Islamic State. Islamic State can't shoot them.

These are old pickup models. Islamic State is surrounded from all sides. Not a single pickup can get in. 1 pickup destroyed is 1 pickup less. Let's see how many pickups they have.

Iran is not at war with the US either. It seems like Syria gets outside aid from many. Nevertheless those drones you are bragging about seem to make easy targets for the F15e.

Just as our Reapers would to an air to air threat. There is no air to air capable UAV flying anywhere yet. That means any UAV is going to suck against an airborne, or even ground based threat.

On the contrary. The purpose of UCAV is kill without getting killed. Islamic State can't kill Iranian pilots. Iranian pilots sit in shorts kill Islamic State pickups with joysticks.

Seen here a Shahed escorts a Reaper in Syria. UCAV in the future sure can shoot down other aircraft.
