1.2 Million $ Grant for Women of Color will Not Discriminate

So this The City College of New York is not going to be discriminating against any other race with exclusively designing the grant to be awarded to women of color.

The City College of New York recently launched a $1.2 million program designed exclusively for “women of color” seeking to become “activist scholars.”

See the non-tax dollars are going to go to the cis-sexual-trans and non binary folks. So who are we to suppose the grant is going to omit by design?

Flores went on to confirm that the program is funded completely through the Novo Foundation’s grant and not public tax dollars, clarifying that “the category ‘women’ is inclusive of cis-sexual, transgender, and nonbinary forms of gendered identities.”

And as usual, when asked to clarify how this is "fair", there is no answer given. Seems this is more of the same self segregating people into boxes that colleges seem to be hell bent to do these days.

While she insisted that the program “does not discriminate on gender or race,” she declined to clarify how the program, which is exclusively for “women of color,” does not discriminate against men or white people.

Try leasing/renting a property with the same criteria as this grant. Property would be lost in law suit.

NAACP was one civil rights organization of yesteryear.

The lack of civil rights for minorities (broad spectrum, including the poor), was the same then as now.

Now its even worse, ask that nurse if her civil rights were violated. Or other nations bombed to dust if they have any 'civil rights".

there are grants for Asian Americans, native Americans, European ancestry, grants for groups who want to be vets, grants for pacific Islanders, Caribbean Islanders, grants for ballet dancing, or people who want to be nurses..

this is just another specific grant by a private donor to a group they are associated with...

I'll start a study on White Discrimination and call on White Males to come and learn how to protest efficiently against the rabid torrent of global hate towards White males. I'll call it the White Pride course.

And I'll fund it with some philanthropic group focused on the plight of white males in modern society.

Normally these types of grants or scholarships are because there is a dire need or lack of diversity. I have a hard time believing CUNY is having issues finding women of color who want to be social justice scholars/warriors. If anything there is a huge over supply.

Yes, light is a combination of all "colors" of the visible and other spectrum. Not that this matters to those with racist views. Their view of things is only skin deep.

There are scholarships for all kinds of things and for all kinds of people.

Maybe some individual that qualifies will get an education they would not otherwise have received.

Here, this website offers a look at what's available in 2017. Sure there are "specialty" scholarships, but that doesn't mean an enterprising person couldn't qualify for something good on this list if they can jump through all the hoops.
