Lol, yes, of course, darnedest thing...CNN got it wrong again.

To 'grab' means: "grasp or seize suddenly and roughly", whereas to 'grope' merely means: "feel about or search blindly or uncertainly with the hands".

However, I believe the word used was 'grab', yet I highly doubt it was used in the 'proper' sense.
