The word anarchy comes from the ancient Greek ἀναρχία (anarchia), which combines ἀ (a), "not, without" and ἀρχή (arkhi), "ruler, leader, authority." Thus, the term refers to a person or society "without rulers" or "without leaders."[2]

Without Rulers not without Rules, the community would watch out for the community

Well then you are no anarchist...there is no community within anarchy.

We can argue this point til blue in the face. If you start a community and I come burn it down, literally, as a true anarchist you would have to support my decision to do so.
edit on 5/5/17 by Vasa Croe because: (no reason given)

I love anarchy on the face of it....the problem is when you dif at the roots....fundamentally it doesn't work because you are against leadership and have to support anything done in the name of anarchy...

When I said I've studied it....I meant it. It is a total sham of a movement to say you're anarchist. A true anarchist wouldn't even give a single crap about a day that is commemorative....he/she would do what they do every day and not care.

The fact they even pick a day to commemorate is a slap in the face....

It's "Ironic Anarchy".

They probably have a rule book.

If truly anarchist, it would have to be on Wikipedia and allow anyone to edit....

Anarchy is for 18-23 YO....enjoy while you enjoy. If you come to my hood and try whatever you want to try....enjoy what I dish out....and don't complain because true anarchy can't complain about a reaction.

If someone takes charge of an anarchy group, does the group listen or do they attack the leader because he's not an anarchist anymore?

They'd, by definition, almost be required to. Union rules, and all...

No, it's to abolish these oppressive factors and let people live without them and be self-governed, it's not that hard of a concept

People are already self-governed and have been since the beginning of time. No aliens governing us; no other species; no other life form.

It sounds like some people would rather build the world in their own image. Then all they can do is beg, or threaten, the rest of the world to conform to it.

The very last thing I would want to "identify" as, is a anarchist leader. If among true anarchists, I would be watching my 6 all the time.

Communities would be run as a horizontal-voluntarist-free association-communal consensus. communities would look out for each other, once the oppressiveness of the State and Capitalism are gone 'competition mentality' would be abolished

If you are really serious about this I would suggest

anarchist works - peter-gelderloos

I know all the communist talking points. At university I was a communist. I read my Marx, went to the rallies and everything.

It doesn't work. It's against human nature itself. Humans are an inherently hierarchical species. Also I don't think there will ever be a point in where there is no longer a scarcity of resources which is a requirement for communism.

All Marx gives us is a utopian dream. Nothing more.

The worst part of it, as with all Utopian visions, is it will always lead to great evil being committed in the name of the "greater good"

Personally these days I advocate for a socialist state and a socialist society. But I won't delude myself with Marx's utopia.
