Lauryn Hill, Bahamadia, Jean Grae, rah digga, Jane Doe, Remy Ma. Can't really think of many more than can hold their own on a track with a bunch of guys.

No Lay and Amy True from UK are decent too.

(I don't have a clear favorite-- but have always liked and respected Jean Grae-- she's just too underground IMO to be greatest ever).

Good choice.. she definitely held her own (and stood out) on one of the best rap albums, period.

For newer artists, I like Dej Loaf-- she's good, good flow, not the best ever but still deserves props.

Sticking to southern female rappers, Princess Loko is also pretty sweet.

Not a single one I could listen to on the reg.

You know, I think you have a real valid point here. I feel the same way about rap that I feel about NBA/WNBA. I just prefer listening to male rappers watching NBA mysself..
I'd definitely endorse most of the songs on this thread though. I could listen for days on end probably.

Another one is Boog Brown! Great track right here featuring Supastition on a Apollo Brown beat!



Nonchalant was a personal favorite during the mid 90's too. Until the day (which was featured in the Bulletproof movie) was an awesome song and 5'o'clock was in regular rotation as well.
