Well, this is getting quite interesting.

Republicans adopted pro-Russia stance on Ukraine just after Trump officials met with Russian ambassador

Campaign adviser changes story and now contradicts Trump, says Donald ordered Ukraine change at RNC

Trump Ally Drastically Changes Story About Altering GOP Platform On Ukraine

In a significant reversal, a Trump campaign official on Thursday told CNN that he personally advocated for softening the language on Ukraine in the GOP platform at the Republican National Convention, and that he did so on behalf of the President.

CNN’s Jim Acosta reported on air that J.D. Gordon, the Trump campaign’s national security policy representative at the RNC, told him that he made the change to include language that he claimed “Donald Trump himself wanted and advocated for” at a March 2016 meeting at then-unfinished Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.

I mean, wow.

As reports emerge that several of his key advisers, including Attorney General Jeff Sessions, met with the Russians the week of the RNC convention, one former adviser has now publicly changed his story to contradict his former boss. Members of the Trump campaign interfered with an RNC delegate proposal to attach language to the official Republican Party platform that would back Ukraine, militarily and otherwise, if Russia tried to invade.

Fast forward to today and the news that Jeff Sessions, Carter Page, Michael Flynn, Jared Kushner and J.D. Gordon all met with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak on several occasions. Both before and after the election, including the week that the Ukraine language was changed in the RNC platform (which was curiously only days before the hacked DNC emails were released). . . .while Gordon denied the Russians did anything in return, it cannot go unnoticed that the very same week all this went down, Wikileaks released the Russian hacked DNC emails.

In a July 31, 2016, interview with George Stephanopoulos, less than two weeks after the push to remove the Ukraine language, Trump said he had absolutely nothing to do with the Ukraine change.

But...

According to CNN's Jim Acosta, however, Gordon said that at the RNC he and others "advocated for the GOP platform to include language against arming Ukrainians against pro-Russian rebels" because "this was in line with Trump's views, expressed at a March national security meeting at the unfinished Trump hotel" in Washington, DC.

They were directed to do so at a meeting with Donald Trump himself. And who presided over that meeting? Attorney General Jeff Sessions:

This is HUGE.

Of course, we can't simply take the former adviser's word against Trump, now can we, but since it appears that at least 4-5 people close to Trump have had contact with the Russian ambassador—including the week of the RNC during which the language in the platform was changed, this is highly suspicious.

Wow, how deep and far will this go?

I know some people will quickly say "Nothing to see, move along here," but this is serious business, and things are really closing in.

The closer it gets, the more Trump tries to deflect. It works still for his followers but not for those who see the pattern and understand what he is doing.

Great post!

A president officially meeting with a foreign ambassador is completely different than a campaign (and unelected officials) covertly meeting with—and then lying about it—an ambassador to covertly influence policy is one of the biggest issues, but I don't expect you see the difference between the two or the significance of the latter.

Hillary is not the issue here, stay on topic.

Of course, the easiest way to remain is self-denial is "CNN fake news," got it.

The change in policy was more than justified regardless of who ordered it.

Good on Trump if he was behind it.

Presidents are supposed to meet with the Russian Ambassador. Hillary did not sell uranium. She was distantly connected to the deal where the parent company is Russian. Deflection...deflection...deflection.
Hmm, was I distracted by it?

No.

So, the rationale is now "but our intentions were good?"

That is a cop out, and funny enough was actually part of the justification.

I suspect there is something a lot deeper and bigger than "stopping WWIII."

Yes, it's all fake, not grounded in the least bit of reality even with quite a bit of evidence, but Obama wiretapping Trump is completely true, even with no evidence.

Wow, you guys are seriously in denial.

ETA:

No, the "Obama wiretapped me" is to deflect from these very serious and potentially true Russia allegations.

Maybe people should be.

And asking themselves why we are selling uranium to them evil Russians.

And why if Russia is so evil Clinton gotten rich of it.

Then they need to ask themselves is it really a good idea to sell Uranium to Russia since it will be put on the top of ICBMS aimed right back at us?

Then people need to take a look at that picture of Schumer and Putin,

Because Lukiol is a Russian oil Company that has ties to Ukraine.

Financing separatists.

Big Deal, a "total reversal" "softening of rhetoric", are we to believe they were lying before or now?

How about they (both 'sides') never once during the campaign mentioned the increased military posturing in the Eastern Pacific?

But But Hillary and Obama....

The thing is, if you think Obama and Clintons dealings with Russia is a bad thing, you should also think Trump and Co dealing with them is also bad, you can't have it both ways.

It's okay When Trump does it, just blame Obama it seems, instead off attacking both people on here attack Obama for the same thing they defend Trump for.

Yes, it's all fake, not grounded in the least bit of reality even with tons of evidence, but Obama wiretapping Trump is completely true, even with no evidence.

Wow, you guys are seriously in denial.

Denial?

Like thinking the Russians some how tried to influence our elections with zero evidence?

Or like thinking George Soros tried to influence our elections with mountains of evidence showing collusion with the very top of the Democratic party?

Funny how you like to focus on one but not the other hypocrite.
