How long do we have to live?

Really all I'm asking. A day? A week?

Who knows? Who knows what lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows...

Ask him?

Now about the OP... What do you think about all this Fourth Turning Grey Champion stuff?

It sounds like a Young Adult Dystopian novel to me...

Great thread AB , there are many reasons to be concerned right now and Bannon is certainly one of the them , you've put that clearly into focus.

The "clash of civilizations" theory is actually quite common. Many conservatives believe in it.

I know there is more than one type of theory. This one implies an internal US conflict in addition to external forces and countries. A generation crisis.

It also gets into some weird authoritarian leader type stuff, or at least a "strongman" type that is termed The Grey Champion.

I find it concerning. Thank you for joining in.

Bannon is not the Devil.

Trump is not Hitler.

Obama wasn't the anti-christ.

Both sides REALLY need to drop the rhetoric.

No piano -- you don't get it!!!!...

THIS is the one doom thread that rises above all others and actually gets it right!!

EXTRA EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT IT!!! -- WORLD TO END AT BANNON'S HANDS (But only because he has fat fingers and he hit the wrong button)

If I die within the week from the Bannon Apocalypse, or Bannaggedon, then I will admit that you were right.

If I am still alive after a week, I'm going to go with "much ado about nothing".

That's why we're here right? Question everything to find the answers.

Anyone who spent time blindly defending the previous administrations had a rude awaking at the end. It seems there has been a determined direction with little resistance.

So if we truly do have an anomaly president, maybe we should be the anomaly generation and actually pay attention, and then continue to do so.

I find it funny that many people will dismiss the idea that it is very important to take note of the individuals that people in positions of power surround themselves with. While we can claim someone like Bannon does not have any real power, simply having the ear of someone like Trump is itself a powerful position.

Rasputin comes to mind. No real power, but we know how that ended.

I'm not comparing Bannon to Rasputin. Just using him as an example to highlight the point.

Hi. Please note that I have not called Bannon The Devil nor have I called Trump Hitler. Certainly Obama wasn't the anti-Christ.

I agree the rhetoric is also dangerously polarizing.

As to the OP, I am not calling Bannon names, but I am calling out his philosophy, which seems dark and dangerous in a world that is more like a game of Jenga than I would like it to be - disturb the wrong piece and something crashes - the economy, international relationships, etc.

Thank you for making your point though. That is why this isn't in the mud pit.

A thought occurred while reading OP; I'm sure this guy has access to an end-times bunker that will save him from the mountains that fall into the sea.

One has to survive the apocalypse in order to be a champion of it?

I'm under the assumption that apocalypse means the end of the Earth...

A new asteroid belt closer to the sun this time around?

Ironically, there is no truth to anything you said. The whole darkness is good quote was taken wildly out of context. You bought into fake news. Why am I not surprised?

No, I think he actually believes what he said. If there is generally a perception of badness or evil, then that's actually not good.

And another quote;

In the past, Mr Bannon had wondered aloud whether the country was ready to follow his lead. Now, he will find out.

“Is that grit still there, that tenacity, that we’ve seen on the battlefields... fighting for something greater than themselves?” Mr Bannon said in another radio interview last May, before he joined the Trump campaign.

That, said Mr Bannon, is “one of the biggest open questions in this country”.

Presumably this is taken out of context and he is metaphorically talking about getting a sponge to rise in the oven.

What I find interesting, and in a funny way is that this kind
of scare mongering is parallel with Obama's parting shots
at the world - I recall he painted out a dark picture for the
world in Greece.

So after 8 years of Obama messing with Russia and when Trump is mending the problems with Putin you are worried about WW3 ??? come on! GET REAL!!!!

The philosophy is what I called "dark-hearted," and Bannon has said many things indicating he wants to burn things down so they can start over. I'm going on his own words and the philosophy he has incorporated into his speeches.

I'm not God though, so I can't say what is in his heart or in yours or anyone's for that matter.

You and me both.

Apparently what a person reads makes them in to what they read.

If I read Mein Kampf. I guess that would make me Hitler.

If I read the communist manifesto. That would make me a commie.

It's just doom porn.

It does need burned down to the ground and started over.

This country has become the very embodiment of what is supposedly is against.

The bottom line however is Trump calls all the shots.

Congress makes all the bills that Trump signs in to law.

The Scotus checks those two.

And apparently two bit judges in several states have the authority to stop the president from doing everything.

What should we do when the top advisor at the highest level of our government expects such a thing as “The Grey Champion, a messianic strongman figure” of “The Fourth Turning” to actually be here (himself, perhaps, or his boss?) to usher in the apocalypse?

Holy crap. I’m not making this up.

A few points:

Grey champion? Your spelling is wrong on that one but its a 50/50 chance so its all good.

Also, you forgot to add the other definition of the apocalypse...the UNVEILING.

First contact...is my onegoal.

As for needless continued bloodshed aka war with China or others, will not be tolerated or allowed.
