Well I'm considering purchase a hand gun more and more now..only problem is in Massachusetts it so difficult to get a permit for protection of life and property..

You've managed to survive without so far.

Is it really wise to leave your life up to chance if you can do something to stop it?

Oh I forgot carrying guns turns you into rambo, carry on.

I know, right? That was everyone's go to knife. If you didn't have one on your belt or in your pocket, you weren't dressed. Guns and knives within easy reach, every day, and we still weren't killing each other.

I carried a Schrade LB7 in high school.
Bucks were out of my price range.

I was against open carry laws in my great state of Texas...
My thinking was "we don't live in the Wild West."

Sadly I was wrong...our high society is regressing to a more primitive state...

This is heartbreaking to bear witness...

The people at Luby's Cafeteria were wishing for some protection.

This happened in a strip mall located in an upper middle class residential area. Apparently, he has tentatively been identified as a local attorney who has been dealing with personal problems at his law firm. It seems that he lived in the area.

ETA: This is what I'm pulling from the local news.

I honestly don't know what's gotten in to people.

Hope and change have gotten into people.

I think the working class ... and those people who always hoped to achieve that status ... are finally waking up.

You're never going to get ahead in this world. No matter what you do, you're never going to be Mark Zuckerberg. It's unrealistic expectations, my friend ... and then the daunting realization you're nobody unless you're infamous.

The shooter has been identified as local Houston attorney, Nathan Desai. The shooting occurred in the residential area where he lived. His Porche is currently being searched by a bomb squad and several weapons are being removed.

He was apparently involved in a dispute with his law firm.

Another day in Australia. Another day without a mass shooting. Another day when we can say 'Australia has never had a school shooting.'

You mean aside from Monash, Orara, Tomaree, and a few others?

If you're going to spout your history as a talking point, you should probably make sure it's accurate history.

Population of Australia 24,224,877

Population of Texas 27,959,150

Australia has fewer people in the entire country then the one state of Texas.

No school shootings is a big positive, but I'd hate to live in the most over regulated nanny state in the entire world, all the same.

I'm guessing you're young and have grown up with "guns and knives are evil" drilled in to your head. I'm 52 and when I was in school, no one thought twice of carrying a knife, because we weren't killing each other on a daily basis. I grew up in the hills and farm country where a knife was used in every day life, not just carried around to look tough.
Today, it's called "tactical EDC" [ eyeroll ]
Then, we just called it a good pocket knife.

More will come out about this guy.

What kind of name is Desai....not that that has anything to do with it, but it might shed some light.

I totally agree.

It is some what frustrating when these killers are killed.

I think it's important to know what drives these people to do what they do.

According to those wanting to take away rights, the guns make them do it...

At first I thought the title said Strip CLUB.

People, please allow the strippers to continue performing their very important function in our society without being disturbed.

We could instead compare Europe with 743 million people, and no school or mall shootings compared to the US, gang wars, yes, terrorist attack, yes, but we definitely don't need to open carry or own guns to feel safe.

Though the problem isn't the guns alone, it's the insane amount of pressure on the population of the US to be noticed and be excepted, a broken society in combination with guns is a bad idea.
