I get rid of them fairly easily too.
I look them in the eye and say I'm not interested have a nice day. If they interrupt I put up my hand say have a nice day and close the door.
They never ring or knock for a second try.
No insults no judgement.
Quick, clean and it works.

Being respectful is absolute.
Taking their paperwork is tantamount to feeding a stray cat.

They bothered you in your home I think you can say bugger off because they chose to bother you.
They are not being polite bothering folk at their homes so sod em.

I was really hoping to get more users to reply with their experiences of encounters with door to door religious folk, even if they are drastically different from my own.

One summer, long, long ago, I was going door to door as a Summer Scholarship Program for college. I'd sell religious books and the publishers would double my commission as the scholarship part.

A guy sicked his poodle on me when I was walking away from him. I got a nasty bite on my right calf, lots of bleeding.

One lady called the cops on me. So the cop showed up asking me what I was doing, my supervisor showed up with appropriate licenses and permits and what not. The cop called my name into county records where my sister in law was working. So she was quite embarrassed reading off my rap sheet. The cop, listening to the whole thing meanwhile was giving me the hairy eyeball, occasionally glancing at my bloody, torn up pant leg.

Oh, the good old days!

Best solution ever...A 'NO SOLICITING' sign.

My building has those... And yet they went ignored.

I'd ask them to hold on a moment while I take all my clothes off then open the door buck naked, if they are still willing to come in and talk about the fake good book then I will offer a toke off the peace pipe and sit cross legged on the floor, get my copy of the 5 books of Moses and compare notes on how their good book changed what my good book already said about the laws of god. Of course, I do not really care, but it would be fun to just shove it back down their throat from a gentle perspective.

Why treat other human beings that way, especially two women?
I don't care who they are or what their doing. If someone anyone is reaching out
to me? The last thing I'm gonna do is show them contempt and be rude to them.
I guess you think it's cool to be that way but have you ever just for kicks done the
opposite? Invited them in and served them a cool beverage. And just explain
why you aren't interested if nothing else. But to be hostile with an attitude?
Why? Because you think you know something? If that's it, guess what?
You don't. Don't be rude to people my man. It's really childish.

Why do they disturb people uninvited at people's homes.
They disturb me during the time I'm on nights I give both barrels.

I'm gonna say that if you have a no soliciting sign up and they ignore it?
Then they deserve both barrels. But if you don't designate, then your
door looks like anyone elses.

No and I shouldn't need one. They are still disturbing people when it isn't wanted they deserve whatever is said to them.

Some cute Mormon girls came to my door once. I had no choice but to answer it as I was somewhat late getting out the door for a boring class. One did the talking. One smiled a lot. And the other just stood there. They gave me a free Book of Mormon, and I gave them my phone number (they asked for it because they were out of business cards - for follow ups). A few days later I got a text, asking about how I was. Well I narrowed down which one I was talking to (the cute smiling one). I politely explained in a few sentences why I'm not interested in what they were sharing. And I made sure to tell her how damn cute her smile was.

Never heard from them again.

But I would have listened to her fairy tales all day.

They are in the wrong knocking on doors trying to sell their crap without invitation.
The same to anyone knocking on my door without invitation I tell them to do one.
Would you like muslims doing it to you uninvited?.
Not that they do that around here. Only Mormons JWS and xians. Do you and others not understand I and many don't need or want people telling me who god is.
