Right. So the statement you made saying

What happens in America Today happens in
Canada Tomorrow

Is incorrect as its now

EVENTUALLY almost everything DOES happen in
Canada as has previously happened in the USA !!!

You just love the hyperbole, don't you?

I'm going to say, prepping and roasting a turducken while driving would be bad.

LOL!

Drinking coffee is practically mandatory.

There is no mention of drinking, eating or coffee in the proposed law, though. That's my point. This is sensationalist BS. I'm suggesting people read the law before reacting to headlines...

When I was learning to drive, I was taught that both hands need to be available for the wheel, to ensure full control of the car.

]No, no it's quite regular here, though you can go to court (but as usual there in no defence) and they will fine you approx. $100 and 3 points on your licence(accumulate 12 points and it's an automatic ban). The speed awareness course is, surprise, surprise $100 but you get away with no points on your licence. Then they have the cheek to say it's not a money spinner. If you don't agree to everything on the course you are automatically thrown off and court proceeding taken up.

Sounds like Canada Man needs to come to where you are and freedom you up a little with the Second Amendment.

I can sip a cup of coffee in the morning
on my drive into work with NO problem
AND afterwards I can eat a Egg McMuffin
sandwich with one hand since I'm crawling
at less than 20 miles per hour on the freeway here!

Great! If it doesn't "interfere with the safe operation of the vehicle", then you're fine!

There is no coffee ban. That's sensationalism in media. You should really learn about it. The proposed law doesn't mention eating or drinking or coffee... That's why you should look things up before you post about them.

Edit to Add: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

===

YOU DON'T KNOW THAT !!!

Omnibus-type bills get passed all the time with
amendments to the language of the original
legislation that SNEAK IN legalities that
then get enforced !!!!

Again ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !!!!!!

The current laws work fine NO NEED FOR MORE !!!!!
And the Fines could be considered Excessive Fines
and Unjust Punishment under the 8th Amendment.
How about reading YOUR OWN CONSTITUTION!!!!

====
Wikipedia Quote:

The Eighth Amendment (Amendment VIII) to the United States Constitution
is the part of the United States Bill of Rights (ratified December 15, 1791
prohibiting the federal government from mposing excessive bail,
excessive fines, or cruel and unusual punishment. The U.S.
Supreme Court has ruled that this amendment's Cruel and
Unusual Punishment Clause also applies to the states.

Most of area outside the 287 bypass is listed as 65MPH. But you can go much faster than that without an issue.

I just made it to and from Cape May in 2:05 in either direction.

To be fair, I have stopped getting bikini waxes while driving.

Just doing my part for road safety!

Bikini waxes are a hassle, they interfere with drinking your beer while driving.

Won't be long before scratching yourself will be illegal while driving.

Himmler, Goebels, Georing and Hitler were
just three generals and a legislator and
LOOK what happened afterwards.

Only 25 million military deaths in Europe alone
due to a mere FOUR PEOPLE so don't tell me
what can happen from a small step in
government overreach !!!!!

I try to avoid scratching, too distracting. Hence the bikini wax.

It's too late.

More nanny-state bull.

It started with seatbelt laws. Now it's this.

Soon they'll just ban radios in cars.

Eh, yes and no.

I don't like government infiltrating itself into our lives at the rate it has but we're also talking safety here, and the roadways are a complete mess and dangerous because of all the idiots out there doing everything except paying attention to driving.

When I see people swerving in and out of lanes or holding up traffic because they're putting on make up, playing with their phones, plucking their eyebrows, eating a sandwich, eating a salad, reading the newspaper, all things I've seen, I personally think they should never be able to drive again.

Revoke their licenses permanently.

Then they can do all that crap while riding the bus.

This law is stupid. Won't have much effect but the bigger issue is there's too many schmucks out there who can't handle the responsibility of driving. Personally I think phones should be disabled in a moving car. The texting law is idiotic when schmucks are instead searching for music, flipping thru facebook or twitter, snap chatting, etc, while driving but it doesn't fall under "texting".

I don't suppose you looked up the proposed law or anything... www.njleg.state.nj.us...

2. (New section) a. An operator of a moving motor vehicle shall not engage in any activity unrelated to the actual operation of a motor vehicle in a manner that interferes with the safe operation of the vehicle on a public road or highway.

So, let me get this straight. You think people should be able to engage in activities in a manner that interferes with the safe operation of the vehicle? So... should they be allowed to apply makeup, read a book, style their hair, etc... ?

Damn you, Obama Hillary!

Nice wording to ensure it is accepted, and then any cause will be cause to cite 'interfering with the safe operation' of a motor vehicle. Like kicking people off planes and investigating them for writing things that 'looked like arabic' when it was algebra...
