Trey Gowdy had that whole Benghazi hearing to skewer Hillary. Either she's clean as a whistle on Benghazi or the Republicans are more inept than the democrats. It's one or the other guys. Pick it.

Its clear that the administration didnt want a black spot on its legacy and a losing debate point in the 2012 election.

She calls it a terrorist attack in an email to her daughter, yet tells the public its the fault of a video.
At the very least she does not deserve consideration for the highest office.

Well the comitee was asked to investigate Benghazi, not Clinton. The fact the you all are pointing out " whoops no smoking gun in Clinton's hand" is telling.

The Right Wing has made this about Hillary the entire time. That is why we have been hearing the same lines against her since this happened.

They went and had a 3 hr meeting about how to spin the attack.

Gowdy's committee interviewed people that were actually there.

The Tripoli people couldn't get permission to go to Benghazi, they didn't have the diplomatic licence to go.

They had to change out of their uniforms several times!

She only needed to make 1 call to say let them go.

NO assets were deployed! WTF?!

Where are the Checks and Balances in the State Department ? Is the Office Able to make Decisions on their Own concerning Foreign Affairs , or do they in Reality , just do as they are Told by the POTUS ? It sounds to me that the U.S. Federal Government is in Dire need of Reorganization for the Sake of the People , and our Future . .

In matters of foreign interaction and military action, the SD cannot do as they please. And I am glad they cannot. There are other people involved that must make decisions.

If our system was designed to react impulsively, we would have a lot more blood on our hands and many more investigations to sort through.

Spin this however you like.

What you can't spin is that our foreign policy was such a fail ; Commander in chief and Secretary of State both knew and had access to info that our Ambassador was in a dangerous situation, yet failed to even implement a proper evacuation strategy.

That kind of piss poor judgement is not fit for further service.

For the past 8 years US foreign policy has been an EPIC fail.

You forget the deliberate creation of a special status for the Benghazi installation to allow them to skirt the usual security regs possibly leaving it even more vulnerable than it would otherwise be.

They were right there. The cameras were already rolling, and you cannot be telling me that there were not some VERY right wing media people there waiting to hang Clinton like a piñata, and swing like they were at the batting cages later. If one network had failed to carry it, you can bet your last shiny dollar that someone in that room would have been transmitting live till the end of the show.

Your argument seems to have only a little less weight than the report itself, if what we know of its contents so far are anything to go by.

They were asked to investigate what happened in Benghazi, NOT hillary clinton.

The admin LIED to the american people.

For consideration:

Perhaps they lied because the Ambassador and the others were part of a CIA gun-running operation that funneled arms to the Syrian rebels fighting to take out Assad and got caught by the local opposition.

Forgive me if I jump to conspiracy-mode, but it appears that Stevens and the rest knew what they were doing, were trying to affect outcomes in Syria and Egypt and paid for it with their lives.

Now can the President and the SoS be open and honest about such things if it was a classified action?

Probably not. That would be a violation of their security clearance.

We all know how we dislike people violating security clearances...
