As I've said in previous threads on this, it all comes back to the same ignorant people not liking the fact that their intolerance and bigotry is being rejected by modern society and they no longer have the freedom to be abusive to whoever they want to be abusive to, at least not without being called out on it.

Ultimately, these are the same people who scream about "progressives", while ignoring that the alternative (presumably what they want) is stagnation.

Society evolves, attitudes evolve. What we're seeing now has happened a billion times before, the only difference now is that we're all far more easily connected. This gives those individuals the impression that their strange little world of bigotry and intolerance is under attack.

In reality, they can still be ignorant, they can still be racist, they can still be backward thinkers who want to live in the past, they just can't expect to be those things and not get a response for it.

These people preach about their "rights and freedoms" to be a bigot, to be racist, to be homophobic, but if you dare to call them out on it suddenly your rights to freedom of opinion are irrelevant and you're "attacking" their rights and freedoms lol

Let them be backward, let them be bigots, carry on calling them out on their BS. They are being rejected and society is evolving without them, they're angry about "political correctness gone mad", but you just need to remember that they're not really mad about that, they're mad that their bigotry and intolerance of others is finally being rejected by the rest of society and they are becoming increasingly irrelevant.

It's not about that at all, but you'd know that if you actually considered any of the arguments instead of dismissing them on such specious grounds.

You have only assumed what you have yet to prove, and is as circular as whatever broken record you have playing in that imagination of yours. The methodology you employ here is the exact methodology of political correctness—the false and indiscriminate charge of bigotry against some fatuous psychoanalysis of what you think others secretly want, instead of actual real people making these arguments, presumably because you have no rebuttal, or worse, because you are being sincere.

What logic suggests that anyone against the policing of language is an intolerant bigot? Not any logic that I am aware of—at least not any logic of toleration, which is the antithesis of bigotry. Besides, once "these same ignorant people" no longer have the freedom to be intolerant—which you conveniently label "abuse", only giving the impression of your vain intentions—then neither do you or I, and you've proven yourself a "backwards thinker" par excellence. Freedom of speech is the core of a free society, proven by every suppression of it throughout the history of man.

You spit on these rights and freedoms, the same rights and freedoms codified into every declaration of human rights, all because you don't like the way some people talk. Sorry, but that's not a good enough reason.

Political Correctness, in all it's manifestations and " isms ", is a brainwashing technique based on Critical Theory.

It is a system of cyclical logic that once adopted by the user never allows for another approach, and the end-game is that the assigned antagonist always embodies hatred, racism, or oppression.

They become intellectually trapped, because in order to see and realize when they err, they would have to empathize and entertain their assigned antagonists point of view...this causes great cognitive dissonance due to contradicting their previously assigned value of the antagonist and so is rejected or avoided.

The remaining cognitive dissonance is alleviated by the religious cult-like belief that they are on the " right " or " good " side of every issue, always battling racists, bigots, and oppressors. Like religious zealots they assume moral authority and claim to have " more knowledge " than the average folk

Cults have made up transgressions against their gods, and Politically Correct ideology has made up transgressions against their ideal society

It is the same type of system used by cults, utilizing the cyclical intellectual trap described by Kafka in " The Trial ".

This is why you see the media and academia structuring and presenting every issue as Victim vs Oppressor, Victim vs Racist, and Victim vs Hater, it's called psycho-politics....when every issue is presented as Victim vs Oppressor, you've already assumed one is guilty.

Racists are racists...

But PC is ruining the country IMO when you cannot explain what something is in order to not hurt someone's feelings. It's life man, where is it that you have a right to not get your feelings hurt.

At least those old fogeys came up with a good saying to go along with their brutally honest intentions.. Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me.
