How was that childish and immature? 'Respectfully'?

The guy just said 'If the Political Correctness Brigade did not go overboard with their views, there would be no need for an anti-PC movement'.

forgive me your honor but i fail to understand HOW that could possibly be disrespectful?

the PC movement can say anything it likes but if you respond like wise it's ' pc police time '?
Please make me understand how his statement is wrong, i thought free speech was legal still? Am I wrong?

Respectfully. Awareness 1.0

Ok quick intro for you guys. I am A 21 yr old university student going to a community college for solar engineering in north jersey. I was born and raised here. I was raised in a Christian upbringing and still to this day am very faithful. I am also Hispanic. I'm going to shed some light on a very weird pattern that has been showing up in my life. It just recently started around 2 years ago. I would say around the same time this blacklivesmatter stuff started happening. What I am speaking of is older folks testing me and many young people I know in a way. What I speak of is generally what you would call non pc rhetoric. What I mean to say is that they would say the most cruel/offensive thing they can but would excuse it as a "joke". My friends have noticed this as well. I don't mean to generalize but the people that did this tended to be conservative because they branded themselves as such. They purposely said these offensive things and waited for you to brand them as either sexist/racist etc. I first noticed this when I went on a camping trip with my friend's 2 summers ago. He is half native Hawaiian and Italian. We were visiting his family on the Italian side which happen to be his father's side. Curiously his mother who is Hawaiian didn't want to go. I later would find out why.

The first thing my friend did was warn me. He explained that I had to have a thick skin for this trip. He flat out said that some of his family members were 'kinda racist'. I wouldn't label them as racist per se. I don't think they believed they were superior to anybody. They just really have no filter and have a very crude humor. We arrived and I was introduced. The first thing his uncle said " you brought a spic instead of the Oreo this time huh?"(this was in reference to our half black half white friend he brought the year before). He started laughing and was waiting for my reaction. I gave a hearty laugh and he smiled. I was in I had been accepted as one of their own. There was a generational divide going on because I didn't even get the brunt of the insults. The younger members of the family had it worst. The kids in college were labeled as commies and hippies as well as 'traitors'. They were more left leaning but also very intelligent. Overall it was a great time and they were very good people. They would be better if they weren't such assholes. I remember drinking a whole ton of whiskey and hearing the older folks lament of how they wish they could trade 'that Kenyan Obama' for good ol Ronald Wilson Reagan. The genius behind trickle down economics. This was the first time I really experienced such a prolonged period with conservatives. It was almost like a culture shock.

This was the first incident where I met these 'anti PC republicans'. I would meet several the next 2 yrs. The worst one I would meet and the one that sent me over the edge. I work as a gas attendant for my local Wawa. In New Jersey it is illegal for you to pump your own gas so I do it. It was my first week on the job. A man came in a pick up truck and decided he was going to pump his own gas. I went up to him and told him he couldn't do that because it was illegal and we were liable to get a fine. He ignored me and I repeated myself. That's when he went ballistic. He proceeded to call me a f#ggot hippie college kid and vividly describing very disgusting things. I tried to stay calm and informed him if he could please refrain from such language. I also told him what he was saying was offensive to my faith. You wanna know what he said? "What are you a Muslim?"" I don't care I'm tired of you politically correct people telling me what to do, I can say what I want as long as free speech is a right in this country". I was shocked it was like something taken straight from this very forum.

I am a very sensitive person and I also have social anxiety. I just felt really hurt when this man said these things to me. Ever since this blacklivesmatter and all these things going on in the world. There seems to be a hatred for younger folks from a certain segment of the older population. They hate that we use our phones so much. The divide is just so great. Greater than any other generation I believe. I think it's because of the technological revolution we are going through. We just don't think like you older folks. You shouldn't hate us. I just got back on to this website recently and it's just so different from before. There is just so much hate on here. There is especially a lot of hate towards the youth. We are seen as spoiled and entitled. Which is not the case at all. I'm busting my ass off going to school and working and for some reason I'm seen as entitled? Why? I'm not much into politics but this is one of the many reasons Republicans don't do very well with the younger segment of the population. We meet these hateful people and see these hateful things said by people who label themselves as republicans, and we just can't be apart of that. The worse part is there is some conservative policies that I agree with like the right to bear arms and others. The whole party needs a makeover. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

Awww you poor litle snowflake, someone uttered meany-mean words at you and you completely buckled??

Tough. Welcome to the real world. Nobody cares. Get used to it. Learn to dish it back.

I'm not even much older than you but I was clearly raised with thicker skin.

Honestly, I feel for you slightly, but here's what you need to learn: Stop freakin 'caring' so much about feelings and all that crap; both your own feelings AND other peoples'. I wish I would have learned it earlier, but it's tough to see how the world works sometimes.

That guy who wanted to pump his own gas? Here's how you should have answered him: "Look buddy, I'm sure you're having a good time verbally attacking me, but I'm just trying to do my freaking job, and yea, it's dumb that some commie-fag in NewJersey wrote a law that you can't pump your own gas, but I sure as hell can't change that. So help me not lose my job by working with me here, and if you live in NJ, vote to change this silly-ass law"

You would have earned his respect by pointing out his silliness, and he would have been impressed you made a sound argument for why you just have to do what you are employed to do.

Also if your job sucks too much and hurts your feelings, well QUIT and do something else!!

Seriously you don't seem like an entitled brat, but I feel for your whole generation as you guys have been psychologically neutered and raised in some bullsiht make-believe world of trophies-for-everyone, and then you get out in the real world and it's a total mindfcuk.....

BY THE WAY, the people who take the time to time to slap you on the shoulder and say something offensive at you.... THEY LIKE YOU, it's just a test. Next time laugh and call them a daygo guinea WOP greaser, and ask them where they buried Jimmy Hoffa LOL

Um no it does not! It's this weird thing maybe you've heard of it? It's called freedom of speech!

In the USA we have this guaranteed thing called freedom. Those of us who enjoy this "freedom" Do not appreciate those of you who because of your soft and squishy Feelings try and oppress our "freedoms"

Your generation is doomed to failure you are weak lame lazy and self entitled. If it were left to you our species would die off. While this "freedom of speech" does also protect yours and I do respect that it in no way give you the right to try and tell me what to do based on your beliefs religions and most definitely not your feelings.

I do hope that what ghost147 says is true and comes to pass very quickly that your generation "will soon fade frome existence and we can move on" You being so soft squishy and effeminate should be afraid for the new generation will probably be more aligned with the laws of nature, where survival of the fittest will reign and the weak lame old sickly will be eaten as they should be...

Here's the thing, Humans are nothing more than animals on a rock floating through a chasm. Do you see the lion being nice to the gazelle? NO they eat it. It's called survival of the fittest and natural selection.

The weak, lame, sickly, soft and squishy get eaten and their bones picked by vultures.

Humans are nothing more than the top of the food chain that have overgrown and grossly overpopulated the rock floating through the chasm. All this "being nice" and PC BS is a result of gross neglect of the rules of the rock.

maybe the PC crowd are labeling things as racist that are anything but.... I'm sorry but saying there's a problem with illegal immigration is NOT racist.. Saying that illegals are often or sometimes rapists and murderers is NOT racist.

I think the PC crowd needs to learn what real racism, sexism whateverism actually IS rather than irrationally labeling people as racists...

It's not calling people out, it's erroneously labeling, the thing that they themselves are referring to being a BAD thing LOL...

It's best not to be too worried about peoples innate fear of complexity driving them to use words they only discovered in 2008.

Thankfully we have yet to conquer death and time - the only true equalizers.

I have to say I think that video was awesome. What I found interesting though is the PC people were also the anti-science people, which I found puzzling because generally those two groups would be at odds. I'd be curious to hear the director's take on that. It seems more common for a pro-religious/anti-pc people to be anti-science and math.

Interesting. I liked the ending.

Apparently You didn't grow up when Ronald was president but I did. I grew up in Houston and during the 80's it was great. There was very little racism and very little crime. The economy was great and everyone was working. I remember being able to ride all over Houston on My bike and not have to worry about child molesters or rapists. We didn't have many problems that couldn't be overcome with hard work. The only thing people were afraid of was the EVIL Russians and nuclear war. Now if You compare it today then You would come to the conclusion that the US is a total crap hole and it sucks donkey nuts. The economy today stinks and everyone knows it except for government employees or welfare people. Prices for healthcare, education, & housing have risen beyond what is affordable. Unless You are rich or a welfare abuser You just have a crappy miserable experience in this country. Hopefully You will wake up to reality because us older folks do have something to be mad about because We have seen better times in this country unlike You whom just knows the now.

Last year My mother just paid off Her car a few days before He birthday. The next day She was driving and an illegal alien ran a red light and totaled Her car. The Illegal had no drivers license and had no insurance and of coarse the cops let Her go. My mother had to spend time in the hospital and had to buy another car and so now She has another note. The thing that pisses Me off is an illegal can really destroy Your life but there is absolutely NO LEGAL RECOURSE for their actions. Now You on the other hand could run over an Illegal and they could SUE You for EVERYTHING. I for one am tired of this crap and to be honest people whom refuse to work are a protected class also.

You have to walk that off, man.

Assholes come in all flavors and it is no ones responsibility to be mindful of others. It's just the way it is. Let them speak their minds. Let them become agitated.

Always make yourself a better person, and don't let others bother you so much. They're angry miserable people and you cannot help them. You can only help yourself.

Hey, don't ever start thinking you gotta be someone else other than you to be shoehorned in to a size that does not fit you...You do not need to interact with people who are racist.

well see, that's where you're mistaken... Those people CLAIM to be pro science, but what is taught as science in classrooms to day is often nothing more than indoctrination.

I have said for years that school would be much better and society MUCH better off if they would teach logic, rational thought, math, english and how to evaluate as opposed to what they currently and how they currently teach...

Fight the good fight. Be the person you want to be

I support PC. Sad and ridiculous that people need to be forced to be nice to each other and accepting of each other.

No, whats sad is when completely innocent things are perverted by Politically Correct people and when the terms "racist", "sexist", "homophobic" etc is thrown around constantly. Seriously, people have been saying fireman, waiter/waitress, host/hostess, etc since the terms came into being. Today, working at a restaurant in California, I wasn't allowed to say "Waiter" or "Waitress", I had to use the term "server". That's the level of PC that is just stupid and why people are now acting out. When I say "Waitress", it's not to offend anyone, I'm just referring to a restaurant server who is female, sometimes it even helps narrow who needs to be notified or found (if we have both male and female wait staff).
