Sounds like a pagan principal. Harvest Festival? No Santa Claus? That's ridiculous. Unless his belief is shared within a greater portion of the parents and their children, he shouldn't be authorized to make such drastic alterations to the culture of the school. Everyone loves Santa Claus.

So I guess the menorah, kente, Kuran and assorted etc., are gone as well? Doubt it. These groups might be offended.
Well folks, I am offended by all this Political Correctness gone wild.
Happy holidays? Not.
It's MERRY CHRISTMAS, I hope all of ATS gathers around their CHRISTMAS TREES singing CHRISTMAS CAROLS.

No socialism is robbing from the 1% so the 99% can drive on them they don't pay for.

I tolerate Santa Claus, but I do not love him. He isn't even #ing real!

He's a symbol. He's a fairy tale we are forced to tell our children and then we are burdened with the task of breaking their hearts explaining we've been lying to them the entire time, that Santa doesn't exists.

LOL you're always so sure of yourself... especially when you're dead wrong. I suppose that makes capitalism where the 1% rob the 99% then?

Mr. Claus has done more to take the Christ out of Christmas than Starbucks.

Santa comes originally from Paganism as all Pagans know, so... I doubt it's because she's Pagan.

Taxes = wealth redistribution.

That, in and of itself, is a form of socialism.

But, I suppose as long as YOU get something from it, something tangible you enjoy...it's not a form of socialism. That's the cognitive dissonance at work.

It didn't break my heart, it showed me how much my parents loved me by making life so magical at times.

As a kid in school, we had Christmas parties and trees and exchanged cards etc. It was magical and fun and filled with love and joy. As I've said before, I feel bad for kids today. Growing up they will have to walk on eggshells, careful of every thing they say and do lest they offend someone for something ridiculous.

That road got paid for by my income taxes via property tax.

Also got paid for by the gas tax.

Also got paid for by the lotteries.

Hate to break it to you, but that isn't 'socialism'.

Yes, neo.
That IS SOCIALISM in a democratic country. Public schools. Roads and highways. New stadiums. All built with tax dollars.
That is socialism. Democratic socialism.

But no matter how many times you are offered remedial education to understand the difference, you bloody outright REFUSE to do so.
Willful Ignorance. You reek of it. And that is Your Fault. Capital Y, capital F; capital W, capital I. Period.com

Wow. Astonishing how wrong you are, how absolutely ignorant you are of how this all works.

You, mister champion of the rich, the tax evaders, the hoarders, the GUN OWNERS - you bitch and moan about paying taxes, and then acknowledge that the 1% DON'T PAY TAXES. That's why YOUR TAX DOLLARS go to make up the difference for underpaid workers, neo -because your idols at the top refuse to share their profits with the EMPLOYEES. They refuse to PAY TAXES like you do.

You should be first in line to support TAX REFORM so those rich people DO PAY, rather than constantly excusing them from responsibility. You really have it backward.

(Sorry for being OT, folks. As Krazy has pointed out, FOX NEWS is crap. And you all whining about this article are falling for it, again. Sigh.
Why do you come here at all if you don't want to be disabused of your misunderstandings and ignorance?)

And god forbid we don't pledge our faith to the state every day, if you don't do that then the terrorist or the communist win I think.

What a bitter person!

My parents simply waited for the day when I came home and announced proudly that Santa wasn't real because kids at school said so.

And that's when they explained that he's still a fun game and represents some of the best things about Christmas like the spirit of giving and joy.

Santa Claus, in modern times, is not a pagan symbol to people who use his image and legend during the holiday season. At least not the majority of them.
