Clinton Wants A 700 Percent Increase In Solar Power. Anyone Have $240 Billion?

Wowzers! A 700% increase in solar by the year 2020! And only at the low,low price of $700 billion dollars Not including interest. Well because we would have to print that, and borrow that money. I am left wondering if them will be China's, India's solar panels. Can't say for sure at the moment.

I do so love spending near a trillion dollars on a technology that for it to work depends on the climate, and the Clinton's, and her predecessors say the 'climate is the greatest threat to us all'. Because it's getting violent 'lately'. No telling what it might do!.

Like Obama, Hillary Clinton wants tackle global warming as well. One of her policy positions is to increase solar power by 700 percent by 2020 at the cost of $700 billion. Right now, solar generates 20 gigawatts (GW). A 700 percent increase would boost output to 140 GW within that time frame, which is tight. As American Action Forum noted, it’s going to take an enormous amount of land to meet the needs of Clinton’s ambitious solar project:

And yeah people where is all that land gonna come from ? They gonna get the BLM to declare gnats, and other critters 'endangered' to steal it from the states, and the people?

I have said this before, and I will say it again. If we could harness the hot air from our politicians, and bottle it. We could solve the worlds energy needs for the next two millennia.

Any how that's my opinion, and I am sticking to it.

They can start by making it easier to get off the grid and the bs with having to have it approved by your provider.

Leave it to politicians to solve the world's issues. Always. Specialists , scientists know nothing . Always follow what the politicians . How many 100s of millions of dollars did the US people lose on the Obama green energy give-aways to the solar energy folks ? And here we go again. Another one gonna start the same BS. Stop the madnesss .

The only ones that get anything out of these give-aways are the politicians themselves.

Geosynchronous satellites beaming power back down to the planet would be a good start. Maybe that'd kick off our exodus into space and relieve some tension on our already overburdened planet.

Why?

Many people have gone off the grid with solar panels and been denied why? Their solar panels will provide MORE energy than they need! Therefore? They are forbidden by the state to use it!

I can't find the article to back up what I just said, but I did find this!

What grid? Why do they have to have permission? Isn't it about saving the planet? I guess not! It's nothing more than spending tons of money and feeling good about yourself, UNTIL, the government tells you, your not allowed!

OK why now? Why not some 10 years back? I bet she is just trying hard to recover her chances for presidential election now that her email server has surely put a dent in her reputation and potential loss of trust from the public eye.

I am sure the people of America has had it with the Clintons and Bushes! They don't deserve a second chance in my humble opinion.

What grid?

Don't know about others, but personally I would rather have a power source that is BOTH independent of the climate, and grid.

And works 24/7 regardless of the weather, and regardless of 'fuel'.

Interesting you bring climate into the mix. It's a valid talking point, but do take note as efficiency increases, grid parity is reached in areas where solar is not optimal. That's a trend which will only increase, meaning eventually (and not too far off in the future) climate will be irrelevant.

My thoughts are that it's an ambitious goal with good intentions, but perhaps unnecessary. As grid parity is reached, consumers demand solar. I have options for solar/wind generated electricity either on my residence setting it up my own, else choosing a provider which guarantees a percentage of juice coming from a green source. Subsidizing the growth essentially means forcing a drop in cost. It's a good thing, but the cost has been decreasing per watt installed pretty dramatically over the years.

As for the supposedly very high price, yea no. You don't seem to be considering the alternatives. Conventional plants aren't cheap, nor are the health costs from being exposed to the coal plants and petrochemicals, nor the long-term climate change economic losses, nor is the efficiency in the long run matched... I mean really there's probably dozens of things to consider to make that number have any true meaning as to being costly or not.

Hillary is scared of getting Sun-Berned.

Did you even look at the link I provided? The government is forbidding people for using solar energy because they are being denied to be hooked up to the grid! WHAT GRID? They no longer need it right?

Why is Obama strutting his ass up a mountain in Alaska, saying climate change in a matter of "National Security", and yet THE GOVERNMENT, is penalizing people who use solar panels, just because they don't have permission?
