She does realize that what it would cost to do that , and to produce all that would increase the footprint more right?

Just like Wind turbines, you know they use huge diesel engines to run right? They do know that with ONE production of ONE wind turbine, it will never, through out its life span, out produce what it cost in fossil fuels to make it?

We need to keep researching and finding better ways....

We need to do this in a way that its not profitable to big corp or special interest groups

We need the private sector to champion stuff like this, not the gov, and not align themselves with the gov

Im all about alternative energy, but im not a proponent of idiocy

Solar Panel 'take 100 years" to pay back installation costs'

100 years x 700 percent increase.

Viability? 0 percent.

And they need to be replaced in 20!

Wow is alternative a joke, only I aint laughing.

Yeah seriously.

ISIS actually poses a threat.........

Dont believe me? Travel to Baghdad............I dare you

ISIS and the Caliphate are not something thats going to go away , or die off.........Its growing and its next targets are Europe and the US.......

Mark my words

The difference is people are actually DYING because of ISIS , by the thousands, and being sold by the THOUSANDS into sex slavery

I would think someone who is liberal would understand that, considering its gays, and children who are being Killed and sold as pleasure recepticles........

The influx of refugees into Europe youre hearing about that they are worried is destabilizing everyting? IS BECAUSE OF ISIS!

my god the lack of perspective

Here's a good video that was on ATS a while back. With the rate of solar energy tech expanding so fast, it's do-able

Or is war free now

Do you know they are made in China?

Not saying that is the best solution or the most money efficient. Just that it is funny when the money becomes an issue.
Trim some of the defence budget and we are good.

Oh but solar panels 'are'.

Hell most alternative energy sites love to 'advertise' free money from the government for installing them.

energy.gov...

Ya know where that money ends up?

Because the Solyndras went bankrupt because CHINA was making them cheaper.

When well they learn...This is just a pipe dream, how many billions did Obama waste on green energy with his trillion dollar stimulus? The bottom line is when green energy becomes good and cheaper then it will naturally take over. As example, when electrical cars can get 300 miles on a charge and can recharge in a few hours and not cost 100k, then EVERYONE will get one.

Nice, when the Yuan tanks I guess it is time to buy... It looks like it will bottom out soon no matter what the Chinese Government does...

How can we NOT afford it?

If the world does nothing, then what we get is something far worse

I was NOT for the war in Iraq , even though I fought, I was however for targeting terrorist in Afghanistan, which I also fought......

Im not for spending money on wars we dont need, but I would gladly lay my life down on the line again to go and stem the tide that these people threaten , not on only us, but the moderate Muslims in the middle east and the world.....

In a damn minute and that is something we SHOULD delve to do, just like we did with the Nazis

that has NOTHING to do with spending money frivilously on Green energy that DOESNT compute fiscally, or even Carbon wise!

I know right ?

It took over a century for fossil fuels to become king.

They think they can push alternative over night.

Alternative is still in it's infancy.

The reasons why we need to do it doesn't somehow make the money appear.

I am not saying that hillary's idea is great but am all for getting away from fossil fuel and rhe "we can't afford it" stance hypocritical at times.

If we were to do something like this I would only want to see it with the manufacturing done here to create jobs.

So they want us to think!

I have a hard time seeing ANYTHING wrong with this.

We do need to utilize more solar energy as it is free and clean.

Personally, I have an idea for a federal program...

Provide free solar panels for low income homes

A: Decreases utility costs and allows them to spend more money and boost our economy, and also helps pull them out of poverty.

B: Increases property values, which is good for everyone
