Smoking-gun document said to prove Obama-Muslim Brotherhood ties

WASHINGTON – The White House isn’t commenting on the exposure of a secret presidential directive, but critics tell WND it confirms what they feared: The Obama administration has an official policy of backing so-called “moderate Islamists,” including the jihadist group the Muslim Brotherhood.

A source familiar with the document told the Washington Times the “policy of backing the Muslim Brotherhood is outlined in a secret directive called Presidential Study Directive-11, or PSD-11.”

The governments of Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates officially consider the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization, but the presidential directive reportedly shows the White House considers the group a “moderate” alternative to ISIS and al-Qaida.

Critics blasted that notion.

Former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy, who has written extensively on the subject, told WND the Muslim Brotherhood “is not moderate” and “there is no such thing as a moderate Islamist.”

The identical response was given to WND by Iran specialist Clare Lopez of the Center for Security Policy.

“The Muslim Brotherhood is a jihadist organization, from the day of its founding and remains so to this day,” she said.

Whether violent or not, she said, all jihadists, such as the Muslim Brotherhood, seek the same two things: “Islamic governance and enforcement of Islamic law, or Shariah.”

Former Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., who tried to launch an inquiry three years ago into Muslim Brotherhood infiltration of the federal government, told WND, “It confirms the questions I originally asked of the inspector generals of five agencies.”

Well this is an interesting turn of event.

What do we think ATS?

* - Valid diplomatic overture or confirmation of all the stories saying Obama was supporting the Muslim Brotherhood? Don't forget Hillary Clinton - SecState, approved visas so members of those groups could visit the US.

There are a lot of sources out there for this, some going back to 2014. Trouble is, this directive is classified, which is odd itself.

Either way, I will be keeping an eye on this one....that could be a big blow to Obama if this document gets out and is confirmed.

When they start using nuts cases like Bachmann and McCarthy as sources it just shows that WND is a joke. Btw I thought WND was banned as a source here because it was shown that they post nothing but BS.

Is anybody surprised at this report?

It is not that the report goes against what has been displayed by Obama and would have his supporters shaking in rage. Rather, it is not earthshaking, but a confirmation of his words and actions over the years.

Reminds me of McCarthyism. The government is infiltrated with communists!!! There's a terrorist Muslim behind every tree. They are like the body snatchers.

Actually it won't be because according to America the Brotherhood isn't a terrorist organization. They gave up on the Jihad crap decades ago and started building schools, hospitals and factories so people could have jobs. Pretty strange way for a Jihadist organization to act isn't it.

Ther problem here is that it doesn't matter about the source anymore when it comes to stories like this, nor for that matter whether the story actually has any merit. It will cause a ship-storm, just as it is designed to do.

It will validate the "Obama is a Muslim, can't find his birth certificate" crowd whilst at the same time causing division and hate between Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

And, it will most likely be "a lie travels halfway around the world before the truth haas had a chance to put it's pants on" scenario.

That would be news to me. Doesn't ATS have the source blocking protocol. I have seen other people whose source was banned where their post states its blocked on ATS. That didn't happen here so who knows.

PSD-11 was nothing more than a research and assessment project of the Muslim Brotherhood and many other Islamic political groups in the middle east.

What the president and US officials did with the information garnered from this study is questionable, but PSD-11 is far from a smoking gun of any kind.

This article from WND is a smoking gun in and of itself, as it shows that they disseminate propaganda. It is riddled with half-truths, distortions and key words that are designed to incite a negative response from someone that is brainwashed to hate Obama.

No it isn't conformation of his actions. Idiots like Bachmann was crying Obama is giving money to the Brotherhood crap when Morsi became President of Egypt which was just another lie the Islamophobes were spreading. We were giving the money to Egypt not the Brotherhood which we had to do due to the peace agreement between Egypt and Israel.

It would be politically unwise to admit that the US government conducted a study and assessment program on all of the Islamic political groups in a region and used that to form it's plans going forward in the area.

How different were the Muslim Brotherhood then compared to now?

Without seeing the actual report, it's hard to base an informed opinion on it, but a lot has changed between 2010 and now in the Middle East.
