I have to agree with Subtruth.

While in 'theory' we are suppose to be a republic.

We live under tyranny of the mob aka democracy.

Where mob might makes 'right'.

Where the 'collective' rights have usurped the individual rights.

The mob says guns are bad so the state infringes on the individual rights to keep, and bear arm.

Of course under the pretense of 'taking care of us'.

ITAR is involved.

SO what you and your fellow Anti-2nd bedfellow Kali is suggesting, is that this is just to protect a company's unreleased product from being on the internet as public domain?

I guess we need more rules/laws governing IP, Patents, breaching of NDAs and corp espionage?

[SNIP]

HEY! For one thing, I'm not anti-2nd. For another if you pull your knee out from under your chin and take another look it is about setting a regulation for GUN MAKERS, not for YOU... for how manufacturers are to protect their data, so that their research and schematics don't end up in the public domain.

It is made for gun manufacturers. However, I'm of the mindset that this is to keep schematics away from people seeking to 3D print firearms. This has nothing to do with protecting their intellectual property. They're already successful at doing that.

Good hell. There are already laws governing this.

It doesn't just restrict it solely to gun manufacturers.
When ITAR gets involved, it is basically a Govt shakedown.

Just like "if you like your health plan, you can keep it" has been proven to be a flat out lie, this is coming from the same group of people. You and every other 0bama supporter can believe what you like...The fact is that this Govt lies, and lies and lies.

This has portions stating manufacturers protection, but isn't solely for it.

What a tough article to read. There is nothing more distracting than having to sift through all the anti-Obama BS just to get to the heart of the matter.

If one would actually take the time to read the pdf, you will find that this has absolutely no effect whatsoever on the 1st and 2nd amendment.

It was written to simplify terms and definitions so that ITAR and EAR are more inline with one another, making it simpler for the industry.

This is directed, very specifically, at manufacturers, the defense and law enforcement industries. All you have to do is read it.

I believe this is yet another example of propagandists taking advantage of the dumb masses for web hits and money. Please people, take the time to learn before you jump to conclusions.

What is happening is 3 fold.
One, it is "supposed" to be to limit info that enemies of the State have access to.
This is a crock of s%*t. Any person can find what ever they need via hundreds of other methods. Limiting the US citizen in some fake attempt like this doesn't do anything to deter terrorists.

Two, it is a shakedown from ITAR, which governs trade from US based companies to outside companies and persons. Basically a tax on US business to do business with our businesses.

Three, it is a quite attempt to limit the our Rights for Freedom of speech regarding firearms, because this Govt doesn't like the People having access to firearms. Plain and simple.

Already read over it. Being that I have to deal with the BS nonsense that ITAR comes with within my personal business, I can tell you my above statement stands.

And my statement regarding how this Govt lies continually.

It revolves around companies, but doesn't limit to companies.

This is not just a US issue this is global in scale because if the US truly does dissolve into outright tyranny the world will also fall....country by country.

So why is the U.S scrambling to get this TPP approved? Because they are struggling to hold onto economic power.

The U.S Gov't don't want to be a tyrant, they want to be the tyrant.

The TPP proves without a doubt the oligarchy running the west/US wants a one world government. The constitution would be null and void and that is a the grand plan I believe.

This is a not a new fade.......Look back in history and watch the progressive movements ups and downs. It fails they reinvent it into a slightly new form and try it again. Hitler loved the early progressive movement in the US and modeled Nazi Germany after it. The greater whole........It sounds great right........It is a path to the dark side.

But I don't actually see any new regulation being put in place here. The majority of the content is specifying definitions of terms of things ALREADY included in ITAR and EAR, and they are doing it so that ITAR and EAR are on the "same level".

And my statement regarding how this Govt lies continually.

True, but I don't see anything included in the language that could even be somehow twisted to pertain to individual 2nd amendment rights.

It revolves around companies, but doesn't limit to companies.

Could you provide a quote or source that confirms that?

a reply to: macman Yes. To defend ourselves from tyranny. I'm just not a gun fetishist nor do I believe Obama's after anyone's guns. I'm far more afraid of his trade deals and war policies.

Right on the money...........Group rights sounds great but in reality it always turns into Oligarchies.

Democracies turn into socialism/communism over time and truth be told they are always Oligarchies in the end. Hitler and Stalin did not rule alone.

Your views are shared by millions who will also not be silenced or disarmed. You'd have to kill me and pray my firearm from my cold, dead hands first.

And I don't even have a firearm...!

TPTB are smarter than this.......They will create a mindset slowly over time using propaganda and fear and many will give up willingly. Pushing progressive ideals in schools and media to the younger generations will eventually pay off in a big way. Young people growing up today will have little or no issue with privacy invasions because that is what they are used too........See the trend now apply it to other constitutional rights.

I can prove what I am saying.......If you ask people if this is a democracy 99% will say.....YES. If you ask them if the rights of a group outweigh the rights of an individual 99% will say.....YES.

This failure of ideology only leads to domination by Oligarchies formed in it's wake.

It is also getting harder to find certain ammo. I have a hard time finding .22 caliber and when I do find it I can't help but notice the price increase. I also can't seem to buy but so much at one time. This is one of the most common and popular calibers of ammo.

Those rimfire calibers such as 22lr may as well be an extinct species in the wild. You can sometimes find it online at less than horrible prices, but locally, in stores? Good luck. Unless you use some of the sites that track Walmart ammunition shipments, you're probably not going to find any.
