what about a Sanders/Paul ticket?

Yeah I started a thread about that. Not alot of support. A lot of negative nancys on why we can't do something. A lot of Ameri-can'ts on ATS but I'd rather be an Ameri-can.

Bernie is the Jesse Jackson in the race

Jackson actually won some democratic primaries in the 1988 race as well as got almost 7 million votes.

Sanders may do as well but like Jackson is too Liberal for this country

On the issues I would vote for him but he cant win

If you said "E Pluribus Unum" you'd be a Latin American.

If Bernie gets endorsed then we will know he was purchased by big corp, if he gets thrown to the wolves by his own party .than we will know he was the real thing. Not good either way but that is what the reality appears to look like.

I don't agree, thats like saying if the witch drowns she is human, if she survives she is a witch.

You understand he isn't using supapac money? he is going by groundswell donation only. the only candidate doing this. so i really can't reconcile your statement as true.

I'm not stating that as a fact but looking at past elections and how the system is currently setup I doubt the MSM, GOP or the DNC will allow him to become the primary candidate.

They will assassinate him like they did with Ron Paul and will use the MSM to label him a Reckloose.

Note: I'm not saying the guy is not who he claims to be, but that is irrelevant. What is relevant is that the system that is currently in place, created the regulations and they are profiting by how things are running, they will use the MSM, the presidential debate commitee , Money, and the two party system to make sure he is not selected as the primary candidate.

By the time the GOP and the DNC select a candidate they have already proofed that they can be bought.

Harvard professor Lawrence Lessig: plus.google.com...

To much is on the line for the corporate Oligopolies to gamble with 50 50 odds. Why would they take such a risk when they don't have to legally do it. They will use their super pacs with infinite money to control the MSM , GOP, DNC and Mr. Sander will not have a chance in hell to get his message to the majority of sheeples tied to the tube.

Not getting my vote. He didn't say one word on how the national debt is going to get paid off. I have heard little to nothing on how the debt is going to get paid off. Want to know why................because they no we're screwed. Bernie also lost me when he said the word FREE. Nothing is free, it's costing someone something. Might be free for the person getting it, but not the person who has to dig in their pocket to pay for it. He sounds like a true politician.

So we voted in a closet socialist (twice), and things have gone so well that we should vote in a brazen socialist?

Sorry, but it'll take a hell of a lot longer than 180 seconds to convince me that that's a good idea.

None of these candidates deserve a single vote unless they can outline exactly what things they want to do, and how they intend to do them.

I do have to say that I would vote for Bernie in lieu of Hillary.

I'd rather have an honest socialist than a lying progressive.

I think we really need to see who profited from the Obama administration before we label him a socialist.

That doesn't look like socialism to me. It looks like neocon corporatism.

If Bernie could give something back to the people he would get my vote but he doesn't stand a chance in hell of getting the nomination.

No matter what, the American people are SOL....What Bush has in store for us will make the Obama years look like the "good ole days"

While I can completely understand your feelings on Hillary, Sanders is still a politician and ideologue. His honesty is as debatable as the next pol.

I can understand that. We must always be critical and skeptical of politicians.

The thing that, I believe, separates Sanders from other politicians, and gives him a point for honesty, is that he is actually willing to be honest and admit/call himself a democrat socialist.

In today's political environment, it takes honesty and cajones to admit to a socialist political leaning. With McCarthyism being alive and well in this country, and the number of people afraid socialism is going to eat their babies and steal their Buicks, I'd say admitting to a socialist ideology is about as honest as one can be.

I see your point, but to if he came out and openly proclaimed that he would be a dictator, would that make him more palatable than the others?

I don't disagree with everything the guy says, but the things that I do disagree with, are fairly big topics for me.

Sometimes, he just feels like he wants to carbon copy the style of government that they have in European countries, and quite frankly, I don't want that.

180 seconds later and the talking points are the same as they have been for the entirety of my life. I want to say they are the exact same as Obama's past two victories. The narrative is there, but there is nothing worthwhile. I won't vote for Sanders because it would be a wasted vote, just like every other vote.

D.C. is the way it is and will remain that way indefinitely. Our system ensures that things cannot change without drastic measures. You and I are here for the ride, nothing more. The elite own the playground and are giving us all atomic wedgies at their leisure. Sorry you had to hear it from me.

Well all he does is talk in generalities about known issues.

He really offers no actual plans and remedies.

Imagine the massive forced authoritarian polices necessary to achieve his "goals".

I'm sorry but Government is the problem and it seems to me he just wants to expand it.

Dumping tax dollars into education, welfare, raising minimum wage or a nationalized health care system will not fix the fundamental problems that exist in this country. Education is one of the things I have the biggest problem with dumping money into, because if you funded education with all the money in the world it doesn't necessarily mean its going to be used well. To be honest I don't believe kids need to spend 18+ years in school, they need to spend more time in the real world.

Plus there's this

Sanders agreed to modify the measure in a way that requires audits of the Fed during the financial crisis but not of the bank's monetary policy.

On his Facebook page, Paul lashed out at Sanders. Paul is a longtime critic of the Fed, and pushed audit legislation in the House that drew more than 300 cosponsors.

"Bernie Sanders has sold out and sided with [Sen.] Chris Dodd to gut Audit the Fed in the Senate. His 'compromise' is what the administration and banking interests want," Paul wrote on Facebook.
