All other holy books paint their god as good and merciful as well, does that mean they're right as well? If not, what puts the bible a step above the rest?

In the assumption that God is real and Christ died for humanity's sins:
Is it still merciless if one is given a choice and every opportunity to avoid hell?
Is it really about making yourself to believe as opposed to allowing yourself to believe .We probably al believed in a tooth fairy or some other nonsense at one point or another . Did we make ourselves believe other wise or did we allow ourselves to choose . ??
And that goes right back to my thread "How does one "make themselves" believe something they do not believe?"

The answer defies logic.
The answer is faith.
My goodman, or woman, in this world not letting Jesus in
could be easily seen as quite criminal.

I would hope God would reward logic instead of punishing it.
