There is no math in any explanation doing 1+1=/=2 at some point they all make a mistake as saying 1/a=x when at some previous step they reach a=o

only making a mistake you can get 1+1=/=2

My second example doesn't even define 1 as a number but as a string of characters.

errrr a number is not a number, is a quantity you represent as you want...

Thank you for the full response pfishy...

We have a similar standpoint.

I'll think of some more questions for you to pass the time with.

There's something fishy about pfishy! Perhaps pfishy is an AI and this thread is a Turing test.

You need a pop-culture infusion and we all highly recommend Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

The question I asked, and many others, will be answered with typical British humour (I even spelled it wrong to make you and TrueBrit feel at home).

While I am sure there's some mathematical theorem that can answer that question, I cannot.

What is 1 + 1 in base 2? What if the number 1 in this expression is a string in computer science?

Computer science is not my field of expertise. Therefore I will defer to your knowledge on the subject.

The answer to first question is 10 and the answer to the second is 11. In computer science the + operator just appends two strings together and in base 2, 2 is written as 10.

Here is a few more ways to have fun with 1 + 1

Why all the technical stuff?
Why don't just say 1+1 does not equal 2 after 9 months?

Well I much preferred Life Of Brian...

So now I realise why it bypassed me so easily.

Thanks for the recommendation because I haven't seen Holy Grail for a long while.

pfishy,

Are there any people on the planet, who are not in some way special? Is vacuousness, vapidity, and a lack of individuality so entrenched that for the very first time in history, people are living lives entirely devoid of any special value?

I do not think you could possibly be one such specimen, even were such a personage to exist. Membership of a website like this, marks one out as being special in at least one way, if not more, and that leaves aside any of the things in the rest of your life that go into making you a unique human being, ergo, someone special!

What do you think about that?

I have never claimed to be devoid of value. And I am not shallow, vacuous nor vapid. I just don't believe that being the product of a successful chemical reaction initiated by your parent's sexual organs makes someone 'special'. I am a human being. I am not a special little snowflake. Individuality, to me, does not grant one an inherent value that others do not possess. Nor does conformity. We're all just meat that hasn't lain down to be dinner for something else yet.

Are the tiny hot dog legs wrapped in pastry and is there mustard near by?

Giraffe neck length arms. Much more useful. And I could punch people from much farther away for making fun of them.
With hot dog legs, I'd never be able to catch up to the b ****rds.

The first rule of what Tyler taught me is, you do not talk about what Tyler taught me.

No, I have never really thought differently that I can remember. Not that I don't value others or myself. I just don't think that everyone is special.
