In reading many posts on here, I can't help but try and figure out a little about each of you by looking at your avatars.

I love all the variety of avatars out there. I actually try and picture what some of you may look like in real life.

I marvel at all the beauty, macabe stuff, weird psychedelic things, and pictures. I know an avatar is a very personal thing.

I'm curious at how you picked your avatar. Or did your avatar pick you?

My avatar is a little of both. The fouled anchor shows I was a Navy Chief Petty officer (retired now). The butterfly and flowers against a pretty sky remind me of a world I have created in my imagination. I go to that world when I need an escape.

Shed light and shine bright where there is dark.

The star is a Gif I made years ago and the little stars are an old background that got incorporated into the avatar in one of the site changes some time back.

Simple, B&W, no frills. Just like many of my replies.

There's a thread on here where you tell them what you want and they make it for you. They totally rock.

Mine is a photo I took of the sunset when I was in Costa Rica last summer. I'm still wondering why I came back to the states!

I have a strange talent in communing with nature.

I relate to everything alive...by nature.

Trees are folks I gel with.

I may be a little autistic lol.

My memory stretches a very long way off....it's a journey like anyone else's.

Cheers on the long road.

May you be connected what matters to you.

I got mine from here. I like horror type stuff and also wolves. I told them that's what I like and they hooked me up. I think it looks cool. I have another that's an eyeball with spider crab legs. I made that one. It reminds me of H.P. Lovecraft stories for some reason. I also have one that is the cover of Pink Floyd's The Wall, with the little guy laying against a brick wall. I like that album.

Thanks for your service, by the way.

Dude. Look! I'm "flowers".

Kinda says it all.

I'm exhausted by this world. A sense of humor is all we have left after exhausting ourselves trying to make the slightest little bit of difference for 50 years.
It found me.

Mine's a commentary on my spirituality.

No way you're seeing what I look like though. Being anonymous is fun sometimes!

I crack up every time I see your avatar, it's hilarious. Maybe that has something to do with... ummm... what Colorado legalized. Either way, I love it!

Huge Jimi fan, the Mozart of our times.

And the eyeball was drawn by an artist I've always admired, Rick Griffin.

6 letters in my first name, 6 in my middle, 6 in my last. Marked by a nasty little beast on my right hand, bled like hell.

So it's only fitting.

Yeah.
I just tried to make a reply to this but got lost on the interwebbbz.....

anyway - the pic is, yeah.

A sense of humor is really important.

In my family, well -
we say:
"sarcasm is just ONE of the services we offer."
lol

When I was a little kid, one of my favorite books on my parents' bookshelves was a slender little paperback entitled "Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions".

But then I'd have to kill you.

Random wallpaper picture for a "Dvorak" song on youtube.

It is a painting by "Jakub Schikaneder".

I just found it to be really interesting and added to the music. Very mysterious and made me wonder what happened to the woman.

An effective work of art! Keeps the audience wondering and we'll never have the answer.

Pretty cool! I love the stories and how you found them (or how they found you!)

Yes, I'm thinking of seeing if some of the wonderful artists on ATS could create an avatar for me. Sometimes I see images in my dreams. If I can remember one vividly, then I'll create a description.

I'm so grateful for all your replies. They put a smile on my face.

I believe it may be one of the PreRaphaelites who painted that one. They are some of my very favorite artists. Mid 19th century.
