All accidents are like that though. From the sound of things they were in danger of being overwhelmed, and he may have thought that pulling the breaker would solve the problem with the computer, and lighten the load some.

Failures generally don't happen at opportune times. The turbulence from the storm could easily have caused a computer that already had a problem to act up, starting the accident chain.
