I never said or implied the he was Personally responsible for the tragic deaths of those two Officers . As a Public Servant for the people of N.Y. City , his handling of this matter has only caused more racial division with his comments to the Press .

When he was in college, he changed his name the first time (1983). The second time, he had been going by Bill/Billy for years, and legally changed his name to his current name when the discrepancy between his legal name and what he was going by was pointed out in an election.

You can read more about the Nicaraguan thing here. Nicaragua was, until the Sandinistas freed the country, a dictatorship. Said dictatorship did some horrible stuff. Reagan came into office in '81 and condemned the Sandinistas, and an embargo was imposed. The U.S. funded anti-Sandinista militias which you might have heard about before: contras. These were typically supporters of the dictatorship that the Sandinistas ousted. Their attacks messed up a lot of the progress the Sandinistas had made, as the government regressed on civil rights and freedoms as a result. There's a lot more, and you should learn about it.

Oh no, he traveled to a foreign country, the 'dreaded' Soviet Union. Glad to see that the specter of Communism is alive and well despite the USSR being dead. What it doesn't say is that he went with a whole group of students from NYU. Or that he went to other scary countries like Israel:

“When he was a presidential scholar at NYU, Bill attended an annual trip that took him to Lithuania and Russia. In other years, he traveled — along with other presidential scholars — to Spain, Israel and Senegal,” said de Blasio spokeswoman Lis Smith.

Yes, Chirlane McCray wrote of being a lesbian, but now she's married to a man and has children by him. People get fixated on categorizing other people. You can read her own words as to how that happened. And yeah, they went to Cuba for honeymoon - in 1994. A lot of Americans go to Cuba, violating travel bans.

The Working Families Party is pro-communist? Uh, no. What's with all of this guilt-by-associations crap?

His parents were communists? That's some grade-A B.S. - his mother was accused of being a communist for attending a concert with a Soviet band. While she worked at the United States Office of War Information - during World War II.

Because he picked a side. He couldn't just calm things by saying that both sides are to blame. Why did he blame the whole police force when it was only a few? Why didn't he blame the blacks as a whole when the reality is that it was only a few. You try to calm things down by opening a discussion with both parties, not by blaming one side.

I guess he'll learn.

Guilty by association !!! We need leaders within the government to step up and open a narrative with the people of the United states and law enforcement. Quit passing the blame because there is enough blame to go around. You can't fix it if you don't get to the root of the matter. Leadership needs to step up. Are people that #ing stupid?
