I LOVE OWLS!!!

Some of us here at ATS have created our own countries with an online game. My country is Liberty Outpost and my national animal is the owl. They have always been my very favorite critter. Beautiful and mysterious (a bit freaky) night hunters.

Side note - Anyone who wants to join our game should see this thread - create and run your own country

Well its not every day. I have to have a real job too. But I am lucky to work often with all kinds of birds.

Here are a few more.
This is a family of Northern Saw-whet owls (Aegolius acadicus). That's mom at the back. Saw-whets don't get any bigger than that. The kids are all different ages because unlike many birds who's young all hatch on the same day, Saw-whets hatch relative to when the their eggs were each laid.

This is a baby Hawk Owl(Surnia ulula).

Ok, maybe this isn't an owl. But she thinks she is.

By the way. This is a parent of the Muppets.

And her release:

Hayden is an awesome cat too! A tomboy through and through. The first to explore and find trouble. Has to be involved with everything I'm doing.

Owls are remarkable. They are adept predators with sharpened senses, and their majestic appearance has inspired awe and legends throughout history.

Then you see one enjoying a morning blow dry or a cuddle.

I adore owls, and the dancing ones are too cute! Awesome video there.

Watching, had to pause to pet the cat, who claims all cute-related comments should be directed toward him and him alone, lol!

Interesting how they each have their own unique personalities.

Now where are those owls? Only heard an owl a couple of years ago near here, otherwise it's just cat fights or squirrels.
