The altitude data eventually updated, I saw that part live (the woman cheering that the updated packet arrived), it was a few minutes after they got the initial touch down packet. After that I had to leave my house so not really up to speed with the rest now ..

Now thats a dang tricky landscape to land on-its far from smooth and flat.

I like a good suspense thriller movie or novel, but hell this is too much!
Imagine how much nail biting is being done at ESA centcom ...

The uncertainty is indeed frustrating ... hope all goes well, nonetheless! Here's a LIVE stream snapshot from a few seconds ago (looks like they're intensively debating about the way ahead):

looks like they're still concerned about the lander, nothing set in stone yet!

Can't wait to see the first close up of the comet though.

Amazing! Thank you. thought this would be shown on the Livestream first.

I just can't get my head around this achievement. Landing on a comet 500 Million kilometers away. That moment was History in the making indeed!

would've been even more tense if the Lander had a "Live feed" with like 40 minutes delay, lol

Nice crop jeep3r!
I would be in literal pant crapping mode if I had to land on that...
I can totally see why the anchors may be having problems.

I am hoping our little Phil has got lodged somehow on some of the dangerous looking rocky outcrops.
They may be what has prevented the dreaded "bounce off" scenario.

What a thing to witness,I feel like an ancient shaman.
Remote viewing through my seeing pool(laptop).

I just came in to say 'wow, this is a massive achievement'.

To land a probe on a rock flying at that speed is massive! Imagine if we could land a shuttle on one and cruise around in Space at that speed?? Reaching 'Mars' would be a doddle!

Here's a nice little read up on the landing.

The images are on the Rosetta Mission and ESA websites as they become available:

rosetta.esa.int...
www.esa.int...

There is no "live feed" from space due to the bandwidth of the data stream between the spacecraft and earth being so small.

Is there something wrong with that? Just wondering.

Whenever I brwose ATS threads i feel like 80% of the users are just trolls without personality/identity.

Their goal is to attack/ridicule other users. Childish Bull# if you ask me. Annoying as well. Grow the # up. it's about time.

Sorry for cursing but sometimes it is needed!

Any idea why nothing is happening on the live video stream? I've just got a vid with blue background and a message with 'time of briefing' on it.

I wrote(before I edited my comment) "WOWI just can't get my head around this achievement"

You wrote "'wow, this is a massive achievement'.

Why are you using almost the exact same words ? If you didn't mean it then sorry. It was just very weird to me when I read it.

A lot of users
